  • Was this question ever asked?

In another thread, mention was made of the OJ Simpson case and, "If the glove doesn't fit....." I may be just a simple old lady (Hush up, Klar) but who said a glove had to fit to murder someone? With the rage Simpson had, I don't think he cared much if they covered his had and fit properly. What did I miss here?

Not only would an ill fitting glove NOT affect someone killing someone else, but OJ was trying to put a pair of gloves over a pair of latex gloves. You may as well be trying to put a square peg in a round hole.

The whole thing wasn't a trial, it was a circus. If someone was trying to do a study on the American justice system and all they had ever seen was the OJ trial, they would have a huge laugh. Good thing that's not reflective of our system nationwide.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think about that trial sometimes and it still amazes me what a travesty it was. A murderer walks free. At least he was stripped of most of his money but I'm sure he's doing very well. It was just such a tragedy.

I don't mind so much that he walked, but rather a proper trial wasn't conducted. The media was too involved and had everyone except the defense distracted. The defense used the media to manipulate public opinion and then there was race card...

        It was pathetic!

Read Vincent Bugliosi's fine book "Outrage". He dissects the trial and shows why it was a disaster. Everything from the D.A.'s incompetence (yes, Marcia Clark and Chris Darden are both a couple of lops) to judicial incompetence and negligence and he even shows how the defense was actually borderline incompetent as well.

I think the book is still available in stores.

I read Chris Dardens book, and he puts forth a good case. Too bad he didn't do it in court. Maybe he was distracted ...

I won't even watch " Police Squad " movies anymore because of what OJ got away with.

Well he got away with it. Saying he's broke is another thing. Broke to one person may be having only a few million. Broke to someone else is having your checking account overdrawn and having to wait to payday to make your balance positive.
