It's a little different in Dixie. Down there they use "flip" as in "Oh my heck, it's just too flippin' hot today!"

But you sure do see them flippin' the flippin' BIRD a lot there!

Geeze, I grew up watching violent movies, violent shows, playing violent video games... I've only been in one fight my entire life! (and I maintain that my friend cut in the hand ball line in 3rd grade!).

Anywho, point being, good parenting is what has an impact, not violent media.

They were the ones responsible for Family Guy? *eyes turn to slits*

These guys got 'The Family Guy' taken off the air?!?!!? That was one of the few shows that I could actually stand to watch!! That was the first show that I actually made an effort to see. F them. This is another one of my pet peeves. LEAVE TV, MOVIES, AND GAMES ALONE!! If you don't like it don't watch it. And if you don't want your kid's to see it don't buy it for them!!

Like all those Maury Povich (sp) show's wher he has the little girls, like 5-12 yrs old. who dress like sluts and the mothers are all in tears cause they can't control their 5 year old. Where do the kids get the clothes?!?!?!?!? GGRRRRR... I hate that fecal matter

FWIW, I'm with you guys on the censorship crap. I have NO use for most of the crap on TV. But I learned a long time ago where the "off" button is. Besides, I spend so damn much time here I don't have time to watch TV that much!

Its funny because to me theres no real difference. Either way its just a word and its the intent behind it that means something.

    Hmmmmm....is Niteshift's real name....SHANE McMAHON?!

As far as the WWE, I saw more violence watching the Three Stooges growing up. I never had the urge to rake a wood saw against my brother's forehead to see the blade warp. Admittedly, I once considered the two fingered eye poke while calling him (in my best Moe voice) "porcupine".

I don't understand the big deal over the scantily clad females: I mean the male wrestlers aren't exactly wearing Taliban approved Burkas.

    Details were released early:

The Parents Television Council has been ordered to pay $3.5 million in damages to WWE. In addition, as part of the settlement, Lionel Tate's attorney Jim Lewis has to issue a public apology for claiming Tate was imitating WWF (WWE) wrestlers in the murder of Tiffany Eunick. However, Lewis does not have to pay compensation in terms of the settlement, given his apology is publicized.

    Scary, ain't it

"For the last several months I've been in war with the moderator on their forum."

So far, I've been successful in curbing my urge to register on their forum. But I may slip sooner or later and give them my opinion of their washed up, has-been-actually-never-was front man Steve Allen.

I loved when the WWE was doing a parody of the PTC with their group RTC (Right to Censor). They'd come out wearing black pants, white shirt and black ties and complain about the sex and violence. The plan was to have the feud end with a match where the RTC leader got his *** kicked by Vince McMahon.........but other story lines came up and the gimmick sort of fizzled.

Holy S***, Raych! You mean *gasp* PARENTS should be responsible for what their children watch!!! Why, I have never heard of such a thing! We can't go out there and allow parents, of all people, to make decisions for their children!

TV shouldn't be a babysitter for children. It is up to the parents ultimately to monitor their children's behaviour. When are people going to stop using censorship to compensate for the lack of parental control?

Dude, I loved the Family Guy! For a half hour, I'd sit there on the couch just cryin'! Then these self appointed moral compasses have to get involved.

Everybody's worried about the governement getting too involved in our lives. What we need to be more worried about are people like this. They're the ones tattle telling to their representatives about how this world is going to s*** because of all the stuff us heathens is watchin'!

If you don't wanna watch The Family Guy, The Shield, WWE or anything else, then click the G-D TV off and go hug an F'ing TREE!!! Just don't get involved in what I like to watch!

This s*** burns my *** quicker than a 3 foot flame.

Oh my heck (mormon slang rubbing off on me).

I'm on the same side as Niteshift and MikeTX.

For the last several months I've been in war with the moderator on their forum. I've had five user names banned. I'm not rude or anything. I just continuously point out their hypocrisies.

For instance they claim that all they want to do is get shows out of the family hour and they won't campaign against other shows. They also say they aren't about getting shows taken off T.V. I got banned twice for bringing up that the list in their accomplishments getting The Howard Stern show and Family Guy cancelled. Finally they admitted that they will go after any show they feel like.

They sound like a bunch of people who don't know how to use the remote and change channels if they don't like what's on.

I actually do see it as good news. Not just because I'm a wrestling fan, but because I'm tired of their dishonest guerrilla tactics.
