  • Ex-Porn Star Running For Governor

    Hehehehehehehehehe....

LEXINGTON, Ky., 3:36 p.m. EDT July 3, 2002 - A former porn actor wants to be the next governor of Kentucky.

Sonny Landham said he's tired of what Democrats are doing to the state, so he's decided to run for governor as a Republican, NewsChannel 32's state Capitol reporter Chris Gilligan reported.

In the early 1970's, Landham acted in nine adult movies including "Naked Came The Stranger."

"I never hid it," Landham said. "If you've seen my movies, you've seen the bad times."

He is embarrassed about his acting start, but said it will only help him in the long run, Gilligan reported.

"If I had it to do over again and know what I know now, I'd say, 'no,'" Landham said.

He also starred in mainstream hits like "Predator" and "48 Hours," Gilligan reported.

Landham said his acting, directing and producing career is the perfect training for running the state.

"My business background comes from making low-budget movies, so therefore, I know how to stretch a dollar," Landham said.

Landham wants to cut taxes, improve schools and give fathers a better say in custody battles.

"This state has been raped, robbed and plundered by the Democrats, who are really no better than the communists," Landham said.

Landham is suing the federal government for $300,000 for false imprisonment. He spent 31 months in prison on assault charges that were later dropped, Gilligan reported.

Landham, who lives in Ashland, said his pastor and church have forgiven him. He hopes voters will too.

"I will be your next governor of Kentucky," Landham said. "I am not the perfect candidate, but I will be the best governor you've ever had."

Landham is the sixth Republican to enter the governor's race, Newschannel 32 reported.

I know him from Predator, but I DID not know he was a former porn star!

Maybe in his election posters, he can pose with the Al Mar Pathfinder machete he carried in Predator-I'D VOTE FOR HIM!

Maybe he can get Aa-noldt to do some press for him.

First, I don't think a reporter named Gilligan has the right to point out one's start in porno's and low-budget movies!

Second, I have my doubts that someone would spend 31 months in prison, only to have the charges dropped (especially assault charges). Has anybody heard of the right to a speedy trial? The only way this would be allowed to happen is if the defendant (or his attorney) agrees to postpone it.

At least transition from actor to politician won't be that difficult.

I'm also curious about the details-why would the Federal government have him on "assault charges." That must have been some assault, or had some aggravating factor.

          Anybody know the skinny?

            EVERYBODY knows the skinny because:
"I never hid it," Landham said.

Perhaps he Should have hidden "it."

Landham said his acting, directing and producing career is the perfect training for running the state.

Am I MISSING something here? Just HOW does this make him a candidate to "be the best governor you've ever had"????

"This state has been raped, robbed and plundered by the Democrats, who are really no better than the communists," Landham said.

And I'm sure he was thinking "NOW IT'S MY TURN!"

Landham, who lives in Ashland, said his pastor and church have forgiven him

Oh yeah, I've HEARD of THAT church! All ya gotta do is give 'em enough money. . .

Besides, WHAT is to forgive? Did he HURT anyone in these rolls?

"My business background comes from making low-budget movies, so therefore, I know how to stretch a dollar," Landham said.

Hmmm, I'll bet a dollar isn't the ONLY thing he has ever stretched!

Landham is suing the federal government for $300,000 for false imprisonment. He spent 31 months in prison on assault charges that were later dropped,

Think he just MIGHT be stretching the truth here a "wee bit?"

So, his REAL first name is William?
It was the ONLY case found with that last and was in Kentucky. So I figured, it must be him.
There was more to the case but is mostly court opinion and findings, etc.
I think what's posted says it all.

                              So, who's voting for him??
