I bought a Range Rover 3 weeks ago, and took delivery of it yesterday morning. This car has the most unbelievable factory installed security system I've ever seen. 10 seconds after locking the doors and the rear door via remote control, all the doors, including the rear hatch deadbolt themselves in 2 spots. A steel deadbolt actually slides into the inside of the door from the inside of the vehicle. It does the same for the hood and the rear cargo door. Also, the fuel and ignition systems become disabled when the security sytem is activated. The system is just unreal. As far as I can tell, the only way to take the truck would be to flat-bed it out, or somehow get your hands on the remote and the key.
This got me to thinking, could this very well be one of the most effective systems out there? Anyone know of any other cars that are comparable?
