  • Military time???

Does anyone know if military time counts towards retirement for local law enforcement agencies? We know the FEDS do. I am primarily looking at CA or WA.

It depends on state law. Here in NY you can buy military time to apply towards your LE retirement. We had one or two officers do that.

        In Canada it does.

If you go from the Canadian Armed Forces to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police all your time counts.

In Colorado, no. In fact, in my department, "led" by a Vietnam-era Air Force SP, military LE doesn't even count towards uniform service stripes! Only city and county LE time counts here!
Being responsible sometimes means ****ing people off.
