      3. Do you feel society needs to move away from religion based values to a more humanistic outlook?
This is something that varies from person to person and cannot be answered in a yes or no manner.

4.List three things that destroy families.
      Ignorance. Greed. Selfishness

      5. List three things that strengthen families.
      Communication. Empathy. Trust

6.What is your definition of a family?
There is no single definition. I define it one way (nuclear family), but others define it just as succesfully according to their own lifestyle.

7.Is the Christian Bible relevant as a tool for parents?
Once again, that varies from home to home. People who are raised in that lifestyle would find it meaningful; others will not

8.Do you feel that single parent families have a disadvantage over two parent families?
      Yes.

9.Do you feel that divorced families have a disadvantage over married families?
No, not a "disadvantage, per se. Some families deal well with the divorce, others do not. I think it depends on the willingness of the parents to continue to work together as parents when it comes to the kids, and not demonize each other to the kids. Also, the ages of the kids when the split happens is important. I suspect you are trying to infer that divorce is always a horrendous prospect. In fact, it gets some people out of horrendous relationships.

      10.Does homosexuality have:
      No impact

on the structure of family values.

      11.Does abortion have:
      No impact
on the structure of family values.
      12.Does divorce have:
      a)no impact
      b)positive impact
      c)negative impact
on the structure of family values.
      D. Neutral impact. See above

      Questionaire:
Please indicate which groups you fall into:

      1.Age group:

      20 - 39

      2. Marital status:
      Married - # of times 2

      Divorced - # of times 1

      3. Children:

1.Do you believe the family unit has disintegrated in society?

If you compare to the traditional one but the traditional one was full of hidden domestic violence, sexual abuse, and other atrociities. Back then the family stayed together despite this. Now they break up. I don't think the breaking up is a bad thing.

        2. Do you feel society needs to return to more old fashined Christian values?

Nope. I'm an aethiest. I'll leave it at that.

        3. Do you feel society needs to move away from religion based values to a more humanistic outlook?

Humanistic obviously given my answer to #2.

4.List three things that destroy families.

        1) Domestic Violence
        2) Sexual Abuse
        3) Disagreements over money

        5. List three things that strengthen families.

        1) Good communication
        2) Activities outside of and away from the family so you don't burn out.
        3) Trust

6.What is your definition of a family?

Any group that lives together in a familial type unit. Blood and marriage don't necessarily matter.

7.Is the Christian Bible relevant as a tool for parents?

Hell no. Its the most hypocritical work of fiction ever created.

8.Do you feel that single parent families have a disadvantage over two parent families?

Sure, single parent families always have to find babysitters and have less financial income.

9.Do you feel that divorced families have a disadvantage over married families?

        In some cases.

        10.Does homosexuality have:
        a)no impact
        b)positive impact
        c)negative impact
on the structure of family values.

        a) No impact. This has the same chances of being a good or bad family as any other type.

        11.Does abortion have:
        a)no impact
        b)positive impact
        c)negative impact
on the structure of family values.

        a) no impact. I don't think its relevant to the family.

        12.Does divorce have:
        a)no impact
        b)positive impact
        c)negative impact
on the structure of family values.

        a) no impact. Many families are better off after the divorce while some are worse off. I think it balances out.

        Questionaire:
Please indicate which groups you fall into:

        1.Age group:

        Common-law
        Widow/widower

Married for the first time, six years now.

THESE ANSWERS ARE NOT FROM COPPER2BE BUT HIS SPOUSE.
1.Do you believe the family unit has disintegrated in society? We have defined it through political explanation by pressure groups and therefore when society deteriorates the family unit does also.

          2. Do you feel society needs to return to more old fashined Christian values? If old fashion values consists of forgiveness and discipline in a loving way.Not to be afraid to communicate differences that we might all have since God made us unique and we all have different preceptions of our world around us. For example men and women, ie. strength in body type, emotions, women as care givers as well as men etc.

          3. Do you feel society needs to move away from religion based values to a more humanistic outlook? Since human make "stupid" mistakes in their lives why would we base our values on stupidty. We must be aware that religion might be at times man's intrepretations of God we must be sure his interpretations are correct before we apply it to our society.

4.List three things that destroy families.
          1) lies
          2)jealousy
          3)no communication

          5. List three things that strengthen families.
          1)family activities
          2)open communications
3)not be be jugdemental about things others do

6.What is your definition of a family?
The family is described very different in the 21st century. The unit that was started long ago and is still foloowed today by many societies is the father-head of the household, mother-caregiver of both father and/or children and children the offspring of mother and father

7.Is the Christian Bible relevant as a tool for parents? If intrepretated correctly it can be a very useful tool to help parents.

8.Do you feel that single parent families have a disadvantage over two parent families?
By seeing it first hand through friends and a family member it is hard work. Financial burdens, assistance in taking care of the child(ren).

9.Do you feel that divorced families have a disadvantage over married families?
They don't get a stable foundation like if you had both parents or a single parent around. If the parents agree on custody or financial help from each other the only disadvantage is that the children are shipped out to one place or another on weekends, or holidays etc.

          10.Does homosexuality have:
          a)no impact
          b)positive impact
          c)negative impact
on the structure of family values.
          c) negative impact since the parent(s) are always letting society know that they can live the way they want and they are always fighting for rights that go agaisnt what society has laid down as a foundations of their society. Inturn this confuses children on what is just and moral in their society.

          11.Does abortion have:
          a)no impact
          b)positive impact
          c)negative impact
on the structure of family values.
C)negative impact- You know the saying "out of sight , out of mind" well we forget that the women's body after abortion goes through certain reactions that a lot of clinics don't tell you about. Excessive bleeding, breasts get tender, headaches, secretions of the left over things in your vagina. How can any wife explain these things to her partner to help her deal with it. This among the emotional disattachments of the unborn fetus especially when seeing other children either in the family unit or in society. Which in turn can even bring about terrible emotions toward her partner.
          12.Does divorce have:
          a)no impact
          b)positive impact
          c)negative impact
on the structure of family values.
          c) negative impact since this is the ultimate break down of the family unit. There is no stability anymore. The cause of the breakdown may not of been revealed and therefore it can happen over and over again.

          Questionaire:
Please indicate which groups you fall into:

          1.Age group:
          19 or below
          20 - 39
          40 - 59
          60+

          20-39

          2. Marital status:
          Married - # of times
          Single
          Divorced - # of times
          Common-law

          married once

          3. Children:
          Yes

This survey is geared for anyone who wants to answer. I used this forum because I knew I would ilicit a wide range of responses. I'm looking for your gut responses. Don't care if you have the same responses as I would have which is why I didn't post any. The feedback has definately been excellent thus far.

I feel society needs to place more emphasis on the family unit.

"3. Do you feel society needs to move away from religion based values to a more humanistic outlook?"

I personally don't seperate humanistic and spiritualistic in my mind. This is a very complex question for me to answer in a short space. I am comfortable with seperation of Church and state; however, I believe that spiritualism is life. One cannot seperate the two, because one begets the other.

                    3)Time invested in shared activities.

"6.What is your definition of a family?"

A group of people who share a strong, intimate bond of love; and are commited to work through life as a unit. There may or may not be biological ties.

"7.Is the Christian Bible relevant as a tool for parents?"
