Cleaning ...

I'm trying to do my "winter" cleaning. I haven't cleaned my apartment since the start of the semester -- I've kept up on the dishes, and (most) of the laundry (and the cat litter, of course).

I do however have stacks of mail, books, and other debris piling on my computer desk, dresser, the sofa, the coffee table, etc. Oy. I need to vacuum, too.

I HATE cleaning.

When I lived at my old apartment complex, my neighbor actually was a maid. She cleaned my apartment for $20.

Besides, I'd rather take PERSONAL responsibility for MY mess and clean it up my OWN damn self, instead of paying someone to do it for me.

Crazy, doing it yourself or paying someone, are both taking personal responsibility. Both are conservative. The liberal would expect the government to pay for someone to clean his apartment.

I am a reformed roundtoit gal. I found a wonderful website 3 years ago, it's called flylady, and the site is http://www.flylady.net

Her motto is you can do anything for 15 minutes, and you do start with the timer. Hubby has tossed bank records from the 70's and almost 25 years of ex-cop and ex-military stuff we have collected!!! Yikes in a small house we were drowning.

I'd give anything to have a maid. We had a snotty neighbor who had one and she would invite us all for coffee so we could see her "maid". None of us went because we felt sorry for the maid. She treated her like a servant.
I'd be nice to my maid, probably even ask her to sit and have coffe with us. This snot would say, "Excuse me, Mildred, but please don't make your prescence known when my ladies group is here." LADIES GROUP? We were a bunch of neighbors with little kids.
We all went down one day with cans of beer and sat there and drank it to drive Ms. Society crazy. I think she should have had one too. Maybe it would kill the bug she still has up her ***.

Ive got a maid and I am grateful for her.(not so much as my wife though)

She is only here once a week, but she does the major things like laundry,bathrooms and floors and she vacuums all of the carpets. She also does the dishes, washes and waxes floors and takes out the trash.

My darling wife is a much nicer person with the maid around doing stuff, after teaching school all day and then teaching 4 hours of piano lessons,it is quite a load off of her.

Fortunatley, she is a conservative(the maid) and actually works for her money. The other day I asked here if she would clean some of my guns (jokingly) and she told me what cleaners I need to get and what the best kind of rods and brushes were. Apparently her husband and kids hunt alot. She is a good woman and works hard for her money.

She actually offered to clean my guns.

Another advantage to living in the south...
