  • Sad day for central Louisiana LEO's

I lost two good friends today to a f**king ******* with a AK-47. Jay Carruth and David Ezernack both of Alexandria Police Department Alexandria, Louisiana were gunned down today while trying to serve a warrant on a subject with the APD SRT team. There were 7 total officers shot. I have worked and trained with Jay and David for years. They will be sorely missed by all. I work for the parish SO and we were called out to assist after officers went down. We arrived on scene to find bullets flying in all directions. It was a war zone for about 2hrs. Subject was armed with a AK and lots of bullets. Rapides parish SWAT arrived and Federal Marshal SOG teams. To make a long complicated story short the scumbag was shot and killed. This was the most scared I have ever been in my life and dont think even 9,11 made me this mad. To top it off the black community is giving us hell. Us being all LEO's in the parish. There may be rioting this weekend or even God forbid more bloodshed. LEO's will be in full force this entire weekend two to every car and every car on the road.
Please say a prayer for the families who lost loved ones today and us who will be on uncertain roads this weekend.
Always remember Fallen heroes Jay Carruth and David Ezernack. Shot to death FEB 2003 in a SWAT warrant served. My friends you are not forgotten.

Sorry to hear about this, BAYOU-COP.

There is another member of this board that hasan't been active, lately (Cajuncop), that is from Alexandria. I wonder if he was there, too.

Glad the &(*&^(^% is taken care of.

The Officers and their families are in my thoughts and prayers.
Optimistic pessimist: Hope for the best, but expect the worst.

You will be in my prayers....we had two shot in North Carolina as well serving a warrant. One Officer was killed and another one is in stable condition in Tennessee at this time. I don't have much more information than that.

I am so sorry to hear of this. We will pray for Jay Carruth, David Ezernack, thier families, and the Alexandria Police Department Alexandria at my church this Sunday.

In my area we just had a similar incident when a man shot up a bar with an AK-47. By the end of it, two cops were wounded and the skel dead.

My prayer list is getting too long with too many sad things.

for the families and YOU. That's the kind of thing we all fear, and each one of us could someday face.

You can put your prayers at The Officer Down Memorial Page also. Very sad.
