I'm on day shift so I missed this one, but I had to share this. I included the story because The Eagletends to clear stories off the webpage rather quickly.

Homeowner wounds a would-be burglar
By John LeBas
Eagle Staff Report
A man shot a would-be burglar at his Bryan home early Friday and held two suspected accomplices at gunpoint in their vehicle until police arrived.
A 36-year-old Bryan man was taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center, where he was treated for a shotgun wound to the buttocks. Police did not release his name.
Police arrested 32-year-old John Valentine Vilanova of Iola, who was in the vehicle, on an unrelated outstanding forgery warrant. The other occupant of the vehicle was a 19-year-old Bryan resident.
Charges of burglary of a building are pending against all three suspects, police said.
Jack Mitchell, 53, told police he heard noises coming from the carport of his home in the 900 block of Navidad shortly before 5:30 a.m. Armed with a 12-gauge shotgun, he went outside to investigate.
Mitchell said he found a man looking through his property and told him to stop or he’d shoot. When the suspect tried to get away by jumping onto the roof of the carport, Mitchell fired once. He later told police he “shot low” to avoid killing the man.
Coming around the side of the carport, Mitchell said he noticed a vehicle driving slowly with its headlights off. He held the two occupants at gunpoint until police, called to the scene by neighbors who heard the shot, arrived.
