  • What are your pet peeves?

    1. Fat women who wear tight shirts and jeans. You don't look good in them and you are embarrassing yourself.

    2. Speeders. It's only a matter of a few minutes..slow down because I do not want to get injured or have dents on my car because of your wreckless driving.

    3. People who hang out at 7-11 every morning. You want a one day job. Understood. Might as well as get a "real" job. If you have the energy to stand out there every morning, wake up early every morning...use the energy you have for a worth-while cause. It doesn't matter what kind of job it is...trash picker-upper, cleaning man, one of those jobs where you wipe off the water after a car goes through the car wash...whatever it is..get yourself a job that pays your twice a week.

    4. People with an attitude problem because they think they are superior then others because they are rich. Personally, if you have a lot of money, great. Depending on your attitude and how you present yourself makes you a beautiful person or an ***hole. Just because you drive a Mercedes doesn't really grab my attention. The more you try to give me that, "Hey babe. How you doin'?" look and take a glance at your expensive car and back at me, gives me less desire to give my attention to you.

    5. Betrayers. Some people take friendship like a hoe they can freak and just throw away. (Please excuse my language.) I don't fancy you and if you ever wonder why you don't have a friend, I've made myself clear. If you wonder why you never had a girlfriend, I think I made myself clear. Change your ways right now, today. You will reap what you sew. Get your head up out the clouds.

    6. Liars! I hate liars with a passion. What makes you think I'm too stupid to figure you out. In no time, you wouldn't even be able to figure out your own stories. You make yourself a better person by telling the truth from the get go in lieu of trying to lie yourself out of a mess. I PITY THE FOOL. STOP ALL THAT JIBBA JABBA!! DAMNIT!

    7. Traffic. It's not that I'm impatient when it comes to commuting in jammed traffic. But it's how people drive in traffic. Just because I drive the same car as you do and our eyes meet doesn't mean that I'm trying to race you. Yea, like we are going to be able to drag race in traffic. People who swerve from lane to lane and pound on their steering wheel and yell because they can't get through the traffic. Get real, have patience...don't you know that patience is a virtue?

    8. Yellow lights. There is a purpose for the yellow light on traffic lights. Don't assume that the car in front of you is going to pass through the yellow light. Yellow means prepare to stop. Don't prepare the pound on the gas pedal speed your way through the intersection.

There are more, but I'll leave it at that for now.

Glad you posted this. These are all things that ticked me off from last Christmas shopping season.

1.) People who block an entire aisle in the parking lot waiting for that one car to back out of their stall so they can get that prime location. However, 20 feet back, there were 2 other parking spots that they could have parked. In the time they took waiting for the car to back out, they could have parked and been in the store already.

2.) Lazy @sses who cannot put their shopping carts back in the rack.

3.) People who cannot understand the flow of traffic while walking in the shopping mall, or those who choose to start a group converstaion in the middle of the shopping mall.

4.) People who cannot comprehend that when a car is stopped at an intersection with its hazards on, that generally means that it is disabled, and will not move. Beeping your horn or waiting behind the vehicle will do you no good. GO AROUND IT!!

5.) Mail-in rebates. How about I not mail in the rebate, and you just give me the discount right now.

    I feel better.

Whoa! This is spooky -- I was just about to start the same thread!! [Wink]

Though, for me, "betrayers, liars, and snobs" (the latter to a lesser extent) are in a more serious category than "peeve" (I plumb don't like those folks [Wink] ).

But, back on topic: one pet peeve that erks me just about every day are people who make "question mark" turns. You know, they are lined up to make a perfect turn, but just before turning they swerve back in the opposite direction before making the turn (from above, it would look a bit like a '?' for the left turn case, or a backwards question mark for a right turn). Boy, these folks chap my hide!

I take it you aren't fat, Kodi, our you would never have said wht you said about "fat" women. I was once very overweight. It had to do with my self-esteem. Fat people have feelings too. I always make it a point to say hello to them because I remember the disgusted look thin people would give me.
My pet peeve is people that stop in the middle of the aisle at church to talk as other people are trying to leave. I think it's my husbands too cause he just seethes. And he will tell them, "MOVE! You are blocking everone else. Go stand in a pew and talk!"

Mitzi, I owe you an apology if my post insulted you in any way. I wasn't intending to in any way, shape or form. I don't look at people differently just because people are over-weight. Whether you are thin or fat, you are a beautiful person, depending on how you carry yourself and your attitude, etc. I have friends who are over-weight and they often talk about how they feel inferior so I do understand.

Once again, I apologize if I insulted you or anyone else on this board. Please accept it.

My pet peeve is when hot chicks DON'T wear tight shirts and jeans. Grrrr!

[hmm, just realized that that could be interpreted in different ways -- depending on how you look at it, I'm quite happy when hot chicks don't wear tight shirts and jeans [Wink] ]

I don't believe this. I was thinking of posting one along the same line myself!

My biggest one right now, is people who come on this forum, asking just down right STUPID questions in the hope of starting an argument. Or in the same line, folks who deliberate troll in a legitimate topic thread, throwing it off track and (again) trying to start arguments.

Away from the forum however, my biggest pet peeve just HAS to be tourists. Or as some folks call them "tour-ons." This is the person who removes their brain and leaves it at home when going on vacation. Part tourist, mostly moron!

Well now I don't read your post as insulting at all Kodi! If you had just left it at fat women, then I'd say it was insulting. However, what you said was: "Fat women who wear tight shirts and jeans."

If a person is overweight (as I am) then they probably should take a look in the mirror once in a while BEFORE going outside. If the clothes are too tight - FOR GOD SAKE CHANGE THEM!

Given that this came right after my last post, I'm HOPEFUL that you aren't talking about me!

I love threads like these! I can spout along with everyone else!

These are the types of people I can't stand and irritate the &#^# out of me:

                        1. People who don't pay attention. To everything. Their surroundings, details, etc. There's nothing worse than someone causing more work for me because someone failed to pay attention!

                        2. People who say they will and won't. Someone who follows through on their word is A O.K. in my book.

                        3. Liars. Honesty and integrity are VERY important. If you have neither of these, you're basically a body filled with air.

                        4. People who don't take responsibility for their own actions. Eat MacDonalds? Then don't complain IF YOU WEIGH 500 lbs! I am so sick of the blame game, pass the buck, etc. You were given a brain, use it.

                        5. People who look through you when you're speaking to them. EYE CONTACT folks! Or, when you're having a conversation in person or on the telephone and they turn around and speak to someone else. UGGGH That ****es me off!

                        6. People who don't let someone with a few items go first in a line at the supermarket when you have a cartfull overflowing with groceries. ESPECIALLY a senior citizen!

                        7. People who disrespect the elderly. It breaks my heart to see punks nowadays taking their freedom for granted when the old "geizer" they just insulted fought in WW2 and was willing to give up his LIFE for his country.

                        8. Good looking, "hot" babes who flash their t**s trying to get out of a ticket. Hint: won't work with my husband...he'll give the next freaking UGLY lady a break just to spite you! LOL (basically people who try to get out of doing things because of their looks).

Geez, I could go on...but these are my top 8!

Still want to by my friend? LOL [Wink]

My biggest pet peeve has got to be the people who are conspicuously absent whenever my agency has any kind of Use of Force, Simunitions, Redman, Scenario type training. Its always the same hardcore, dedicated officers that show up, the ones who need that training the most always have some weak excuse for not being there. Other than that, its probably people who think they have some kind of race piece and take up more than one parking spot. If in uniform, I ticket them every time.

I agree with you 100%, and in no way were you insulting overweight people upon making such comment. I'm about 20 pounds overweight, and there is no way I'd wear muscle shirts, tight leather pants, etc. until I drop those 20 pounds. (Well, I'd never wear tight leather pants, FWIW.) You have nothing to apologize for Kodi.

I wasn't offended. I just remember what it was like. One of the most artistically talented women I ever met weight 300 pounds. It just used to bother me that she would teach these free classes and people would make fun of her when she wasn't around. Most people who are overweight are people with low self-esteem and those going through a lot in life.
I remember how much it meant to me when this man wolf-whistled. I turned around to see who he was whistling at. He said, "You have the prettiest eyes I have ever seen". I thanked him and went my way, wearing a smile on my face all day!
