I just gotta say I'm happy with my new 2002 crown vic, my mom loves her 2001 explorer eddie bauer and my cousins love their escapes. Glad to see Americans helping other americans.

audi is owned by VW, but i still think they should have donated something under the "audi name".

I had heard of this earlier not long after the strikes. It is funny how we support them and their economy and they still expect us to keep feeding their economy. If you look at them they have not slowed thier ad campaigns they have increased them because they still are very happy about thier record sales. I do think America should send them a message that we will not tolerate the snub they have given us in our time of need. I will spend my monies on a new vehicle later this year or next year and I will buy either a Chrysler or a Ford product.

There does seem to be a trend there.

I have my eye on a garnet red Chrysler Voyager minivan. Just trying to come up with the best method of paying for it. (Robbing a bank isn't one of them.)

Trueblue, According to the Snopes site CNN did not release that info.
As a former employee and current owner of several BMW products, I have to state my rebuttal.

BMWNA did pledge to give a million in cash, 10 X5 suv's and 100 RT-P motorcycles to the NYPD. BMW does manufacture vehicles in the U.S. at the Spartenburg, SC facility and after it's opening they gave M5's to the SCHP. The SCHP also uses their motorcycles.

That is pretty great of the companies here to donate all they have. In all fairness though, if the American car manufacturers could build a car with as much quality as a Honda, then I would puchase one. I was raised General Motors, but I would never buy another one. Back to what this thread is all about, I'm proud of the American Car Manufactures for giving to the cause!
