What's PBA?

What was the point of the poster? Recruitment?

Policeman's Benevolant Association. i beleive that poster is part of the PBA campaign to get NYPD a raise.

BTDT. It didn't work. My FOP Lodge ran the same picture, just a different vehicle and officer, a few years back in an attempt to garner public support during contract negotiations. We didn't get a raise. In fact, some grunge band stole the photo and used it as an album cover.

I would think it would open some eyes but unfortunatly people will just say "Pick another job" No one asked you to go into that line of work.
