lol, I probably should be from the midwest Scratchy. My folks were both born in OK and some of the midwestern philosophy, cooking, homemaking skills and such have rubbed off on me. To me, it's country living, simple, uncluttered, and happy. Living in a "city" like I do, that lifestyle helps to soften the rough edges. If it weren't for the tornadoes (I'll deal with earthquakes anyday) and heat/humidity in the summer, I'd probably be living in Oklahoma now. It's beautiful there.

Popular Mechanics, and that is it. I'll pick up different magazines on various topics at the newsstand every once in awhile but that is the only one I subscribe too.
I used to subscribe to US Weekly, but they had the exact same stories and pictures as People, so I let my subscription run out. How many boring articles and pictures of Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney can one endure in one week?
Country Discoveries. It's full of articles and photos of interesting places to visit, all in the USA. I received a free copy of their premiere edition a couple of years ago and I was hooked.
Wild West
Country Music
Subscribed to the last two as a fundraiser at my granddaughter's school. They are all good but I prefer Country Discoveries.
I only subscribe to National Geographic, it must be something to do with my inherent wanderlust.
I pick up numerous other ones at the news stand:
Guns & Weapons For Law Enforcement
SWAT
Backpacker
JP (an all Jeep mag)
Combat Handgunner
Outside
and of course Soldier Of Fortune
Nobody ever wants to have to fight, but its a darn good idea for someone to know how.
