lol, I probably should be from the midwest Scratchy. My folks were both born in OK and some of the midwestern philosophy, cooking, homemaking skills and such have rubbed off on me. To me, it's country living, simple, uncluttered, and happy. Living in a "city" like I do, that lifestyle helps to soften the rough edges. If it weren't for the tornadoes (I'll deal with earthquakes anyday) and heat/humidity in the summer, I'd probably be living in Oklahoma now. Country Discoveries. It's full of articles and photos of interesting places to visit, all in the USA. I received a free copy of their premiere edition a couple of years ago and I was hooked.

I only subscribe to National Geographic, it must be something to do with my inherent wanderlust.
I pick up numerous other ones at the news stand:
