Actually, there was no specific order.

We had a different forum format prior to UBB. We got invaded by a slew of pro-drug legalization types. The old format had no registration, you simply typed in a name and it went on your post. That led to one of the trolls trying to imitate me. It got old quickly and the decision was made to switch to the UBB format.

When the switch was made, I happened to be away at a school, but prior to my departure, the owner (Jim) told me that he was reserving my name for me and I could activate it when I came back. Hence my number being 25. Most of the really low numbers were those of us that were "originals".

I refuse to belong to any message board formats that don't have a required registration -- too many trolls out there and people impersonating other people. There are still a few that come around here every so often but the mods lock up the topic before I get a chance to put my 2 cents in. Sometimes it would just be fun to let the trolls have it and have an all out flame war! I know, I know...pipe dreams.

That happens from time to time. A "play toy" comes around and opens himself up to barrage of "well wishers". We'll let him get batted around a bit and then send him on his merry way.

I know I am still a rookie, but I like it in here a lot better than the other forum I used to frequent. It is from my hometown and I found it after 9/11 because I was homesick. It helped a bit and then when I got over the feeling I just kept visiting because there were some members who I enjoyed having heated debates with......THEN.....it started getting less and less fun. Recently,the forum people decided to change the format and a lot of people did not register; a few of the oldies were there, but only talking about moronic topics; bascially showing their true level of intelligence.
I found out about you guys and thought I would give it a shot. so far so good. I visit the other one just to see if anybody else is debating anything worth while.....NADA! The three regulars who visit everyday and post are two people who are dating and use the forum as a way to send love letters to each other at work. And that just involves some back stroking and ego boosting. The third one is a self-proclaimed stripper who is now interested in the male partner of the dynamic duo...well, just wanting to flirt, that is. It is quite a riot.....I am curious if this "stripper" is not actually the female member or her friend who is another frequent visitor...could be. It just looks like a bad sociological observation experiment on self-esteem and it is getting funny. It is a joke and I will be surprised the forum lasts. Mike knows what I am writing about. Take a sneaky peak in there, Mike, to see what I am talking about.

And, yes, he's beginning to be verrry annoying.
