  • Old people

I remember my Dad asking me, when I was a teenager, "Honey, hopw old is a person you consider "old". I said, "Well, I guess around 45". I remember him shrieking with laughter because he as only 44.
Well, hee I am, almost 53 and he is 81. My son will soon be 26. He takes greeat pleasuree in teasing his "old" Mom and Dad. I told him, "Think about it, David. I was once your age. So youthful, full of hope for the future. "Old age" never occurred to me. But, here I am, gray hair (if I let it be ), diabetes, tired. Did you ever think IIIIII thought I would be old?"
    He just grinned.
And all this because I just kicked Crazy in a Jeep in his diapers.

    Mitzi,

Fifty-some ain't old. Well, to some it is. I've seen fifty-year olds who move so slow and sluggish they look ninety, and some who are so lively they could be in their mid-twenties!

I feel old, tho. I'll be twenty-four in two months and I'm dating an eighteen year old. I'm having a mid-twenties crisis!!! AAAAHHH!!!

LOL! I am one of those lively ones. The only time I felt the again process maybe coming on was when I took a bad fall a few years back. Didn't "see" a neon yellow curb and WIPE OUT.
But, my diabetes bothers me mode then anything.
I don't FEEL old. But I think my mother has been a 70 year old woman since she was 20. Know, what I mean?
My son says sometimes, "MOM, act your age!" I say, "WHY?????"
And I DID kick him in the diapers, 207....and it was pretty yucky. lol

Well, Think about this way. We are making so advances in medicine and Bio Technology. The recent work in gene therapy has inspired the scientific community to say they could have a cure for cancer by 2010.

So the average human life expectancy could increase greatly. Who knows, in twenty years, we could on average live to 100!!! So by that standard, you are middle aged. So Party it up because you still have
half your life ahead of you!!

True, in 2040, they may have to recontruct your physical body and you could be half android. But if your new robot features include laser beams attached to your arms and jet booster in your feet..that would be pretty cool!

Dating an 18 year old would probably kill me. But that coroner would never be able to get that smile off my face.

I dated someone younger than me for over a year. He wasn't 18 (the thought of going out with someone old enough to be my son doesn't appeal to me), but I had a blast. I had 11 years on him and lemme tell ya, that 26 yo AF reserve/FF/phone company guy sure was definitely fun to hang out with.
