  • Resident deputies are Satan's spawn!!!!

Okay but not really but they are evil.

Here is some radio traffic from today.

Resident Deputy: Dispatch, I'm going to be 10-6 for the next four or five hours with the motor boat and jet ski doing water patrol at the reservoir.

It should be against the law to torment the rest of us who are stuck in cars with bad AC like that.

I work a marine patrol part time. Some days it's brutal out there. The hot sun is beating down on you and/or reflecting off the water for the 8 hour shift. Really no place to hide from the heat, no A/C at all, no 7-11's to pull into to get a 40 oz Slurpie.

And worst of all there's no "scenery" out on reservoirs, swimming and boats are prohibited. But, on the rivers and lakes... whoohoo!!

Ahhhh the "water patrol"... also known as Babe Watch...

It does get tough at times. Just last weekend we had to retrieve a bikini top for a college gal that had "lost" it when she crashed her jet ski. I might add that she was powerfully built and a joy to behold.

      I HATE when that happens...

It's threads like this that make me really miss my old department. Right ON the St. John's River and only 30 minutes from St. Augustine Beach.....
