  • Lost my wallet...

and this morning some Mexican kid returned it. Everything was there, Shield, ID, License, EXCEPT my social security card, and my car registration. What can someone potentially do with these two things? Any ideas? Gratzi

They can steal your identity, get credit cards issued in your name...the list goes on.

Have you had your Department, or whichever Department's jurisdiction you lost your wallet in, put you on NCIC and/or NYS' system, as the victim of missing ID yet?

Call the Credit Reporting Agencies and put a fraud alert on your account.

The original person on the phone will probably play/be dumb and tell you there is no such thing. Get a supervisor.

If you don't have an alarm at your house you should get one, NOW!

I keep mine a HOME. Thing is, when they run your plate they get the registration info. so if it aint your car they will know. I'd only carry it when I just bought the car and the state computers havent entered it yet. BUT, I know some states require that... still cant figure that one out though.

But DEFINATELY call the credit bureaus and put an alert on your name. You can do that. we recommend it at our PD. Good luck.
Oh... Oh... I know you di-int!
