Got a mate from Aussie over there at the moment couple of you know him,he has tried to visit a couple of prisons there ,he has his Aussie I.D and a covering letter they seem very reluctant to let him visit due to litigation or what ever is this common or are they just being wankers ,here in Aussie we go out of our way to welcome O/S visitors and take them on a prison tour...........hmmmmmm just thinking maybe its cause hes an Aussie...lol...seriouslly tell me

Is your buddy trying to get into a federal prison or a state prison?
If it's federal, that could be one problem. They are very strict, right down to the clothes your friend has on. They don't allow certain colors of clothing inside the facility (not even the employees can wear certain colors). And if your friend doesn't have prior authorization, forget it.
As far as state prisons, can't help you. Maybe he might want to call ahead and get it preapproved.

I don't think it's because your Aussie, we Americans love you Aussies!
