Medical Examiner Spokesperson Julie Bolcer said Garner’s death was caused “the compression of his chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police.”

So now it wasnt a chock hold that caused it like we had said the entire time after they ruled no bruising to his neck was found. But now because they had to hold him down to cuff him while he was resisting is now the cause.

Bah ,Thought they ended the witch hunts in Salem many years ago because thats what this sounds like.

No one is saying that. No one has said that. You can get killed walking in front of a bus or a streetcar. You probably want to blame the cops for that too.

          ah another one,

Im saying when the first reason they came up with for this death was ruled as false, after getting the media and public all stirred up,they found a different one.

Resisting arrest whether it takes 1 officer or 5 to get someone under control is still the same.If he had just did as he was instructed this could have ended so much easier.

Homicide? Really? Dude had a heart attack because he was asthmatic and had heart disease and died as a result. Any way this man could have been taken down could have caused this to happen... What do they expect us to do? Just walk away? While it's unfortunate someone lost their life, at the end of the day it was their decision to do what they did, the cops only can react.

A finding of "homicide" only means that the death was caused by one or more people, doesn't it? And since Mr. Garner resisted arrest, that started the chain of events that led to his death. Is anybody now saying that the officers did anything wrong? If so, what did they do wrong?

Homicide is the killing of one human being by another human being.

Although the term homicide is sometimes used synonymously with murder, homicide is broader in scope than murder. Murder is a form of criminal homicide; other forms of homicide might not constitute criminal acts. These homicides are regarded as justified or excusable. For example, individuals may, in a necessary act of Self-Defense, kill a person who threatens them with death or serious injury, or they may be commanded or authorized by law to kill a person who is a member of an enemy force or who has committed a serious crime. Typically, the circumstances surrounding a killing determine whether it is criminal. The intent of the killer usually determines whether a criminal homicide is classified as murder or Manslaughter and at what degree.

                        .
LEGAL execution is deemed a homicide by the medical examiner.

I am very blessed to be working in a very conservative area.
BTW, members of a nearby agency shot were involved in a lengthy suspect initiated gunfight, and the officers involved were named as suspects on a 187(murder/homicide) report. That's just how incidents are documented and forwarded to the DA. Justified or not.

OCME only states what it believes contributed to the cause of death. I would not want to be the ME on the stand trying to explain how his physical and medical conditions were not the chief cause of death. Compression of the chest by a truck tire yes, by the Officer's hands, no.
