  • Daytona FL couple fined for feeding homeless.......

There's always more to these stories................

A Florida couple vowed Monday to wage a tenacious legal fight days after being fined more than $300 each for violating a law by feeding the homeless.

Now I'm not gonna MMQB the police (or the couple for that matter), but the media on the other hand, sucks.

    smh
It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

You can obey the law or change the law. You can't just ignore the law.
When you are dead, you don't know you're dead. It is difficult only for the others around you.

It is the same when you are stupid.

I hope they get fined until they are homeless. A city park is for the citizens to enjoy, not for a feel good ministry to turn into a camp for "people of leisure".

plus, if they are cooking food at home bringing to feed homeless people, they may be violating health laws. Are they inspected? How does anyone know they aren't feeding the homeless people ground up dog from the local dog shelter?

Our church feeds homeless people every Saturday. We have to prepare the food at the church kitchen, which is inspected just like a restaurant, and we have to have a permit. That's just the way it works. There are truly some homeless people that are good folks and fell on bad times, with no familial support structure and no where to turn. Then there is the other 99.9%.

            They're your friends and "family"?

Invite them to stay at your house then.

See how that works out for you.

And he shows police officers using a cruiser hood to write down the volunteers’ identifications.

Anyone upset by this article has never actually dealt with a homeless person.
