  • Sick and taking pat

I'm going to be taking my pat test with Lapd this Friday. I have a bad case of cold/flu and I'm not sure if I should postpone it . I know it's fairly easy test but I'm feeling really sick. If I call to postpone the PAt would that look bad ? Any help will be appreciated

I would call and ask them if you can.

I took a corrections agility test last weekend and I'm still recovering from a respiratory infection.

I had to sit in the locker room for half an hour afterwards until my breathing and heart rate went back to normal and the room stopped spinning. I passed, though, so it was worth it. I spent the rest of the weekend coughing like crazy.

But like sgt jon said - call them and ask. I was in the process with a department about 9 years ago and I ended up having to drop out from the process because I couldn't re-schedule the test. They're the only ones who can tell you. But if it's just a cold, I'd try to push through, because there are no sick days in the academy if you get hired.

Why is it acceptable for you to be an idiot, but not acceptable for me to point it out?
