  • A scuffle!?

    http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/South/11/16/officer.badge.ap/index.html

    quote:
BALTIMORE, Maryland (AP) -- A Baltimore police officer has his badge to thank for deflecting a bullet during a scuffle last night.

Police said Officer James Howard was treated last night and released.

Police Commissioner Edward Norris said Howard was patrolling in Northwest Baltimore at about 6 p.m. when he got out of his car and began searching the area on foot. A few minutes later, the officer noticed a large man in the alley, and called dispatchers.

The man attacked Howard, grabbing his service gun and firing it at him.

Norris said Howard is "very lucky." The badge, he said, is going in the police museum.

That's a scuffle? How about attempted murder?

Thank God for that officer. If anyone needed a proof of a miracle...

Of course it's considered just a scuffle. If the suspect would have had his own weapon and been shot by the officer, then it would have been something like a "deadly shooting" by police. I guess since the perp used the officer's weapon he isn't that "bad" of a guy. Typical media crap once again.

Well, at least its better than the scene in "Support Your Local Sheriff" where the mayor hands James Garner the sheriff's badge that has a bullet dent in it. James Garner says that the badge must have saved the sheriff's life. The mayor replies that it sure would have if it hadn't of been for all those other bullets flying in from everywhere.

LOL! I love that movie! When I heard about it on the news today, I sited the exact same thing. Good taste!

My H dies laughing at that movie. He loves the part where the jail isn't finished and the bars aren't up yet. Yet, the prisoner stays there anyway because lines are drawn where the cell will be and he isn't smart enough to just take off. lol

I was lucky enough to find Support "Your Local Sheriff" and "Support Your Local Gunfighter" in dvd format in a two pack for under $15. This made my day. While I think that the first movie is far better, the second is still pretty good.
