  • Company Christmas Parties

This year, we will be having our company Christmas party at a very nice restaurant. I'm still undecided about going. We have to give a response by Thanksgiving so a head count can be given.

If I do go, we are allowed to invite one guest. I am not currently dating anyone and thought about asking my daughter to go with me. A few girls at the office want to have me go with Mr. Fed Ex, but I'm not up for that.

Would it seem funny taking my daughter with me? We were told guest - not significant other, spouse, or bf/gf.

What does your work do for its employees in regards to big holidays, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas? Anything special?

    Kate,
Take your daughter, to heck with what they think.

We usually have a squad party for the holidays. I have an amazing knack of finding a way out of them. [Wink]
They gotta pay me to work with them, I don't want to socialize with them. Unless there is money involved.

Thanks for the advice, Mike. I am going to take Chrissi. Honestly, I really don't care what anyone thinks. Just having an off night, I suppose...

We don't go the Christmas parties, not after the bosses wife hit on my husband and vice vrsa. They were dancing much too sexy for me and when I went to cut in, he woulan't let me, saying the dance is amost over. I said "Substitute "Marriage" for "dance." Didn't phase him. Phased him pretty bad when I left him stranded at the party and left him for 3 months. I told him anymore disrespct like that and he can dance with whoever he wants because he won't have a marriage to worry about. I don't put up with crap and he knows it.

I forgot to add she is now in her 60's, looks like an old hag and has ben married 5 times, all to former (also married when she went after them) employees of her first ex-husband.
It is a very sad situation because so many families were broken up and hurt.
I guess my husband wanted to live
