Or was it actually a "prank" in some schools to have 3 older people pinning someone down and stripping them completely naked, and taking pictures?

To make it comparable to those old days, you'd have to take naked photos of your "prank" victim and have them published in a world wide publication, which is what they did here. Seems to go quite a bit beyond "de-pantsing" in front of a small group of other kids.
Yes, but the "de-pantsing" in old school terms was done to a classmate not a younger kid.

That's a pretty broad statement. There are situations where it is part of a responsible contingency plan for parents and their kids. So long as the parents are responsible enough to teach their kids how and when to use it, when not to use it, not give them Internet access on it, and monitor their phone activity, in our case, it can only be used to call my wife and I, and we check the call logs every month; then its a perfectly viable option.

And if it happened 4 years in the future, he would of just had a 3/4-way and been king of his high school. I'm just saying.

They have phones for that. These phones have a few buttons that have numbers programmed in them (parents cell/work/emergency). They are not able to text, dial a different number, or anything else. If you're concerned for their safety get them one of these. Frankly, a child in middle school does not need a brand new fancy cell phone with internet access.

And don't think that for a second because I'm suggesting this that I am "behind the times." I have an iPhone 4 and use all the features on it. However, I think a child that young has no business with one. Not even talking about cell phones in general, I think parents buying the latest and greatest everything for their kids is ridiculous anyways. If you buy all these luxuries for them, they don't even appreciate or take care of them. I know a guy that has a young son with an iPhone that has literally broken the thing over 5 times by being careless and dropping it. He keeps fixing it and giving it back to him and it makes me sick. I have had every iPhone since it came out and have never once damaged one of them (knock on wood).

You want a new video game or a new gadget? Go mow lawns and start saving your money. A lot of kids these days aren't really taught that much responsibility and it just sets them up for failure when they get out into the real world.

Sorry I kind of went off on a tangent and this has nothing to do with the OP's story, but this stuff just irritates the hell out of me.

I was going to avoid this for fear of being inappropriate, but your post had me laughing so hard! In a few years, those girls will feel so bad for what they did...and you know...make it up to him!

Did you mean 3-4 way? Trying to figure out how a 3/4 way would go. Two amputees going at it?

WOW, -A- and bigislander72, you need to have your heads checked. I am just as likely to laugh at a disgusting joke but, this is ridicules. The major theme here on this post has been that if the roles had been reversed the boys would have done the perp walk and would have a record for the rest of their lives. Would it be the same if it was a girl… 4 years in the future the guys would feel sorry and have a 3/4 way with the girl. Think about your kids, if you have any, being involved with this, if you have a son or daughter, especially a daughter. Would you want her having her clothes ripped off by 3 idiot boys and the video of them laughing on U Tube for the whole world to see?!?! Guys, you need to get your head screwed on straight. Maybe I am more sensitive to it because I work in SVU.

As far at letting the parents handle it instead of the courts, well, that already went away when the girls did what they did. I know that the parents can’t always make their children do what is right but, I am sure that the parenting skills are somewhat lax in these families.

My stance on the OP is that what the young girls did was inappropriate, unlawful and disgusting. Per Delaware State Code they would be charged at a min. with 1st degree: unlawful sexual conduct, 1st degree: Production and distrubution of Child pornography, 1st Degree: sexual assault, harassment and DC.

As far as my previous comment, it may seem harsh by some, but you have to learn to laugh at these things in order to protect yourself. If I (or anyone) acts compeletly serious and up tight when it comes to unfriendly subjects, it WILL tear you up emotionally and lead you down a very dark and dismal road that wont end very well. I''m on a LEO website, not responding with EMS to a rape in progress.

"Protect yourself", "dehumanize it and keep the stress down"? Really?? This is a forum. What is stressful? Did you take the report? Were you there?
I think your banter went too far. This isn't smokin' & jokin' at the station. JMO.

Nope wasn't there but have taken statutory rape case reports before. One involved a very young child about 3 years old. Another one involved a 13 year old. I still remember the name of the suspect in the 13 year old's case after 14 years as well as other details in both.
Threads like this reminds me of those cases so....

Not to mention some folks, I imagine, come here to research the career field so why not let them have a small example of what it's like on the job.

Everyone is talking about how the video is all over the internet, how pedophiles can get a hold of it and what not, but I have to wonder if anyone would have even known about the incident had the media not plastered it all over the web. The fact that the show the video, even with it partially blurred is disgraceful on their part.

It's never okay to hit a girl either. Yet girls can do this and get off without any punishment except an ''Okay don't do it again sweety'' from their parents? Yea that won't do anything.

If a guy hit a girl he would have a misdemeanor. If a guy ripped off a younger girls clothes, he would have to register as a sex offender and get some time in the slammer. If a guy posted the video of the naked girl on the internet, he would get time in the slammer as a sex offender, and have charges against him for child pornography. I'm not being sexist here either. I'm being equal. Something that doesn't exist these days.
Don't forget distribution of child pornography...they did post it to Youtube

And what will everyone say if in 3-4 years this boy takes a gun to school and shoots those 3 girls? Or just shoots them period? Public humiliation affects people differantly than just being humiliated fairly privately. This boy may never recover from this and that's something the parents never told those girls about. I raised my kids telling them that you never do to someone you can't handle having done to you or thinking about the consequences for ALL involved!

"Do unto others as you would have done unto you" should now days say "Do unto others the same crap they've done to you." I honestly hope that boy gets counseling and the girls get "time".
                                I'm old......that's all.
