  • Is Charlie Sheen worth it?

    http://www.wtop.com/?nid=41&sid=2356203

If the officers did this I hope Sheen handed them a few bucks to make up for the time off they may get. Sheen is a ******* ***.

WASHINGTON - A police escort provided to actor Charlie Sheen as he rode into the District this week appears to have been improper and against department policy, D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier tells WTOP.

"If allegations the officers were speeding, running lights, using emergency equipment are true, they've got a problem," Lanier says.

Sheen posted a photo on his Twitter account Tuesday night showing a police car ahead of him with emergency lights flashing as he was escorted at least part of the way from Dulles International Airport to his stage show, "Violent Torpedo of Truth: Defeat is Not an Option."

Sheen included a picture of a speedometer reaching about 80 mph and a message that read: "In car with Police escort in front and rear! Driving like someone's about to deliver a baby! Cop car lights (hash)Spinning!"

The former "Two and a Half Men" star was running nearly an hour late for the show after having spent the early part of his day in divorce court in Los Angeles for a custody hearing over the twin sons he shares with his estranged wife, Brooke Mueller.

It was not clear exactly where the photo was taken.

Lanier says department policy allows escorts for high-level officials such as the president and visiting heads of state, but "not for celebrities." The department is usually paid for providing the extra detail.

"Our policy is very narrow," Lanier says. "I'm 100 percent confident the proper procedure was not followed to authorize a reimbursable detail."

She also tells WTOP that the use of emergency lights and sirens is forbidden outside of the District, and that even on an authorized detail, escorts are not allowed to run stop signs or exceed posted speeds by more than 10 mph.

Lanier says Sheen's promotion company, Live Nation, wrote a $445 check to get a police escort for the actor, which she says is the amount charged for a reimbursable detail for two officers for four hours. The check was made payable to "D.C. Treasury" and dated April 19.

Only $445? That is damn near free!

Jeffrey Ross quotes from Charlie Sheen's show in Atlanta last night:

He said Sheen kept asking where “The Museum of Coke” was.

“Mubarak has a better shot at getting his job back.”

“Charlie, you look awful. I got to admit. Your eyes have more bags than your kids when they were forced to move out of your house.”

“Charlie Sheen is to stand up to what Larry Flynt is to standing up.”

Most of the escort was in Virginia, not DC. Sheen is a troll and found a way to get the DC Police to get him there fast, I just hope he made it worth their trouble.

No doubt, I mean, using your own agencies officers to escort the body of your kid the cop killer is one thing but an actor??

$55 an hour per cop is not cheap for Atlanta.

Demoted policeman sues over Sheen escort in DC

WASHINGTON — A District of Columbia police captain who was demoted after actor Charlie Sheen received a high-speed police escort to a performance has filed a $12 million whistleblower lawsuit against the department.

Hilton Burton alleges in his suit that he was punished after the April 2011 escort for saying that police commonly provided the service for celebrities. That statement contradicted Police Chief Cathy Lanier, who said the Sheen escort broke department protocol.

Burton was demoted from commander to captain about a month after testifying before the D.C. Council and transferred out of the special operations division.

Lanier has said the demotion was not connected to the escort or to Burton's testimony. She did not immediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday.

Oh, and to your original, rather rhetorical question, Is he (Sheen) worth it? Hell no. Neither are you.

She's obviously never seen any escorts made during Police Week.

What you think your forum policing sounds like:

                            How it actually comes across:

Ripping on me for every post you can streeeeetch a 'reason' around is as tired as the day is long.

I don't have to run every post I make past you for permission. Now, reply with one of your typical rambling hate speeches about 'you don't dictate how I respond!', in which you ironically dictate to others how they should respond.

If you have something to bring to the discussion, then bring it. But, so far (in this thread, at least), you're just whining on the internet.

Not dictating there Fubarfoot, merely commenting. Or is that not allowed in your rather juvenile world? No Fubar it is YOU who does not dictate what I or any member posts on these forums. You're a known and proven anti- LE troll, and I'm merely reminding you that we have your number. It's quite easy to visualize you in the company of your Stoner friends regaling them with tales of how you told off the cops. All from the comfort and safety of your keyboard. That IS you fubar. No need to ask the rhetorical question, it is you. We know it, and deep down you do too, Just for the record, you have every right to your opinions. We have an equal right to call you on them. Especially when they typically vilify and demean the work this profession does. Your occasional post approving the actions of an officer(s) does not detract from the very obvious fact that you have a highly anti-authority, anti -LE bias. Am I going to call you on it? You bet your sweet *** I am. You must really be a glutton for punishment. There are so many websites where you'd be regarded as a true hero, man of the hour, a really cool guy, for telling off those cops. This simply doesn't happen to be one of them. Oh, and if you're really getting tired of my comments. ( I really rather think you like them),there's an obvious solution. Bet even you can think of what it is.
