  • Fond du Lac P.O. shot, is in critical condition

    http://www.fdlreporter.com/article/2...text|FRONTPAGE

Not sure if that link is gonna work...

Officer in critical condition, another officer injured falling down some steps during the incident.

Shooter is apparently a vet who did at least one tour in Iraq...hope the officer recovers. Its a crappy situation all around if this vet had some mental issues and wasn't just a run of the mill ****bag

Best wishes and hoping for fast recoveries for officers.

I hope the government pays more attention and take care of our vets returning home from the field.

FdL PD just held a news conference; this officer has died

There was actually another officer shot (apparently the earlier reporting about an officer falling down stairs was incorrect or incomplete) and that officer is in critical condition as well.

P.O.S-James Cruckson, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Capt. Lemke said Cruckson had many prior contacts with Fond du Lac police, but he would not go into specifics.

47 so far. This is ridiculous. Anyone have any predictions on when we will surpass last year's total?

Yeah, I think at this rate it is bound to happen. We can't go a week without losing one.

Terrible. My mom is from Fond du Lac and I have many relatives who live there, so I've naturally spent a lot of time there. Hard to believe.....prayers for all involved.

Very much a nice community. Mostly blue collar. It's of decent size (42,000) with several smaller communities surrounding it....good mix of a city and small town feel.
