Now that I got me going, here is just some of The People's Republic of Santa Cruz, CA's brilliant ideas:
Free Trade Port with Nicaragua, Nuclear-Free Zone, Hate-Free Zone, annual "hemp" expo, mayor who embraced Marxism, former black panther college professor, University of CA, Santa Cruz (UCSC) school mascot is the Banana Slug, college degree in Lesbian Studies, vagrants allowed to camp in city parks, legal camping zones within yards of homes and schools, prohibiting the police department from assisting the Border Patrol, notifying the Navy that they were no longer welcome to park a ship off Santa Cruz on July 4th.

Yes, all that is true. Anytime any one of you think your town has problems, refer to this post. If your town is worse, I advise you to start drinking heavily.
