    T'S A DOG'S LIFE

It was the end of the day when I parked my Police van in front
of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner,
Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me.

"Is that a dog you got back there?" he asked.

    "It sure is," I replied.

Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the
    van.

Finally he said, "What'd he do?"
"I will not use my patrol car as a desert prerunner unless in pursuit."

I can't verify the truthfulness of this story but it was told to me as true:

A K-9 officer takes his dog into the dispatch center and, while he's talking to another officer, lets the dog loose to wonder around the office. One of the dispatchers comes up and asks if she can pet the dog. He says OK and she starts calling to the dog, "Here Danger, come here boy. Danger, come here. Come on Danger, come here." The dog just sits there looking at her and the officer asks her, "Why are you calling him Danger? His name is Lobo." She answers, in all sincerity, "Well it says 'Danger, Police Dog' on the side of your car. Isn't that his name?"

The officer leashed up his dog and left, shaking his head the whole way.
Caution and worry never accomplished anything.
