  • Hangover

I went on a "shift night out" last night.
The result is the worst hangover I think I have ever had.
Anyone know a good cure ?

Sorry to hear about the hangover...but i hope the nite was fun

I'm sure you will hear tons of good answers here. As for me, it's been many years since i've had a real bad hangover. But i know you need to get some Tylenol in you (for the headache), which, depending on how upset your stomach is, may not be easy!

So you need to get some crackers in there too. What i always found was, the ol' "hair of the dog that bit ya" worked for me. Make some orange juice with just a LITTLE bit of vodka, or something else to drink and add a small amount of liquor. Might sound grose right now, but it should work to help you go back to sleep, which is the TRUE cure. Time heals lol!

Like Jellybean, it's been a long time for me since I've had a hangover. It was different when I was younger (partying), but I just don't do it anymore.

I always tried to drink plenty of water BEFORE I went out drinking, as well as having water before I went to bed, if I could remember! When I got up the next day, it was more water, and then tomato juice. Most times it worked.

Hey g***a - i think you'll find we have 'real' beer over here, not some poor watered down excuse!!!!!

ukcop - try 2 anadin ibuprofen, one bottle of mineral water, 3 slices of bacon, a fried slice, beans, mushrooms, sausages, egg, tomato, 2 slices of toast and some hash browns. All swimming in fat.

              Ksfuzz is right about water.

How many of you guys remember from Breathalizer class about the alcohol in the body. Alcohol has an affinity for water and absorbs water as it is circulated in the system. As the alcohol is metabolized the water goes from the blood into the kidneys, more water is then used as it washes the alchol (ET0H) from the system. Our BAO instructor said drink lot's of water and it lessens the after affects. If you are hung over hydrate yourself.

Did you guys get to get to booze up for a supervised drunk when in class? We did. Half the class on Wednesday and the other half on Thursday. We then tested each other.

                  Bez is right,

Irn bru does the job to, fluid, caffene and sugar, what more could a hangover ask for.

After many a shift night out I have been seen clutching a two liter bottle of bru and heading for a greasy spoon.

LOL I think the best part is getting a nice big glass of milk and guzzleing it. Wait about 30 seconds then jump up and down rapidly for a minute or two then head for the bathroom LOL. Wall-laa instant cottage cheese LOL.

Yes the drinking of plenty of water is the answer as you rehydrate yourself.

Thanks a lot guys for the suggestions.
I did the fry up thing.
                        Four bits of bacon,
                        Three sausages,
                        Two eggs
                        Fried bread
                        Fried tomatos
                        Beans (fried)
All swimming in lots of fat.

I felt a lot better (I don't think my heart did though, I could feel it furring up).

Other than that, it was sit on the sofa all day watching DVD's and drinking orange juice.
