I was working and didn't get a chance to see it. If it is good, I guess I will have to wait for A&E to show re-runs. That's how I have become hooked on Third Watch (Crossing Jordan sucks though).

I missed the first few minutes and then missed about 20 minutes in the middle (alarm call). I was able to pick the show back up easily. I thought it was great... Ed O'Neil did a good job as Joe Friday. I can't wait for next weeks show.

i was kinda disappointed because i thought it was kinda boring -- nothing really gripping or exciting like a "24" or "Shield", but then again the old versions were not the most exciting episodes either and i still watched. go figure.

I TRIED to watch it. I got the impression, perhaps wrongly, that the producers/directors intend to rely upon the SHOCK factor to sell the show. Having grown up watching the REAL Dragnet, I was disappointed, but not surprised.

I liked it and will keep watching but there was something about the plot that was a little disappointing. I'm not sure what it was. Perhaps I was just feeling a little nostalgic. Joe Friday was my idol years ago. I liked the new actors but I kept picturing Jack Webb. Frank Smith should have been a little older, and I missed his sense of humor.

Brush With Fate on CBS also sounded good, according to the TV section of the newspaper, so I taped that but haven't watched it yet. I skipped Kingpin because it sounded like they were trying to make drugs sound like just an acceptable but dangerous business. Perhaps I will watch parts 2 or 3 just to see if my hunch is correct.

I hate it when there are two or three things on at the same time that sound good. Doesn't happen often.

I switched channels halfway through. It was disappointing. Ed O'Neill was alright, but the authenticity the real Dragnet had was missing. Things like body fluids being collected from a 187 victim at the scene, no scene security, and that old female captain or whoever who seemed like it was the first murders she had ever dealt with when they looked at the map showing the killings. She didn't have the slightest bit of cop about her. Maybe that was just bad casting.

I can't help but compare this version of Dragnet to the original, and this one just doesn't stack up against Jack Webb.
