  • I made it.....

to California without any problems. The only problem is that my butt feels like it's been driving that moving truck for a month and it only took 5 days. The bummer is that we are staying with my parents until we find a place around Sacramento that we like. We went looking Friday and didn't find anything so we'll probably hang out here for the next couple of weeks until something comes up that we like.

Jack, we actually ended up staying in Amarillo one night. Even if I had your number with me, I couldn't have called you. We got a later than expected start out of NC and had to make up time on the road. Needless to say, it wasn't a very relaxed pace we were keeping---barely had time to change my underwear.

I see I missed at least one troll while I was out.

Congrats. Welcome back to Sunny CA! Good time to look for a LE job. Lots of hiring going on right now. Most squared away agencies have the new 3%@50 retirement plan. If you are looking at an agency that doesn't have it talk to somebody in their association and find out why they haven't gotten it yet.

Check out http://www.porac.org/employment.html for agencies hiring. Also POST has hiring info at http://www.post.ca.gov/TRAIN/select.htm

    Good luck.
If you see me running try to keep up!

No problem I have done that type of traveling before and completely understand. You reach a point where you just want to get there.

Glad you made it safe and sound.

      Good luck on the housing.

Thanks everyone. LeeRoy, I'll be a regular on those sights.

Jack, we stayed at the Red Roof Inn at exit 71? on Sunday night. That night there was a bad thunderstorm going through the area that made the sky look pretty cool. We went to eat at a place called the Country Barn or something like that. I can't recall the exact name, but the food was good.

Blondie, it's good to finally be back. Now I just have to find the right place to live. Looks like I came in time to see some wackos blow away a bunch of people. That last one was a real nut case making that video.

ftr, I see you are getting closer to making it. Saw it on another post. Congratulations.

Sacramento is a beautiful city to me. Although the water tastes like it's saturated with sulphur and the air turns people into mutants (:-)) I bid you well.
-I don't feel you honor someone by creating a physical gesture (the salute). You honor them by holding them in memory and, in law enforcement, proceeding in vigilant, ethical police work. You honor this country or deceased soldiers or whatever you're honoring when you salute a flag by thinking, feeling, and continuing a life of freedom.
