one supervisor at a neighboring agency got caught doing that. he met his girlfriend and they drove out to a field. he got stuck and called a wrecker on his personal phone. the wrecker driver couldn't find him and called the PD. they had no record of him being stuck and they made it inquire further.
another officer i know of had his wife show up to ride with him one night. his rider spot was already filled though, by his girlfriend.
there are more females that would do that in a second if they knew you were interested. i've been extended the offer, but there isn't anyone worth my job or reputation.

Not only does this activity put your coworkers' safety and your department's reputation at risk, but it's a serious threat to your employability. Somebody once said, "there are three B's that will get you fired in law enforcement -- booze, broads, and bad money." In these parts, I'd say that sex related problems are probably the most frequent cause for involuntary employment severances, based on what I've heard. I've seen some good cops lose their careers and relationships due to this kind of behavior

Aside from anything else, I live 30 miles way from where I work, which takes about 40 minutes to drive on average.
Do the maths - 2 way journey, 1 hour 20 minutes, time at home, 20 mins to 'ahem' say hello to my wife; 1 hour and 40 minutes away from my post. Hmmmm, I think I'd be missed somehow. Plus, my car would be a bit out of place bearing in mind I live in a different jurisdiction. The artist formerly known as Soho Bandit

Some of our English friends might be able to verify this for me. When I was working as a barman at a pub in London we had a guy come in who would tell his story if people bought him drinks. He was apparently famous for getting into Buckingham Palace and making his way all the way the the Queen's bedroom. The Queen chatted with him until her security people could arrive and arrest him. The reason he was able to make it to her personal residence was because her bodyguard (I was told) was off in a closet "doin' the nasty."Caution and worry never accomplished anything.

Oh man...so those stories i write couldnt come true... cuz the officer would be afraid of getting in trouble??
I was married to a cop, he had the car at home for breaks and lunch... i wont go into detail... I personally like the uniform alot more than the car, tho. (and no i didnt just love him for that lol)
My first love was also a cop, who worked for a River & Bay/Bridge Authority. we used to take the access road under the bridge and park, but we were in his private veh, not his cruiser."You did what you knew how to do...and when you knew better, you did better." ~~Maya Angelou

Aside from the already mentioned safety aspects, my department litst lack of "moral turpitude" as grounds for disciplinary action up to and including termination. I find that I can "get freaky" far more frequently when I am employed, so I'll wait 'till I'm 10-10 before I go 10-8.

Shot to death FEB 2003 in a SWAT warrant served. My friends you are not forgotten.
