  • porn on kids sites

I have set up my computor for my kids to search items that interest them and to help with thier school work. They have thier own folders with sites they are allowed to search threw. All the sites have been rated kid safe.

The other week I came home and my wife was upset that the computor became over crowded with spam from porn sites. Our youngest who is 10 was into a porn site. When I was told about it i checked out the computor and discovered that this was not done with intention. She had gone to the area that I had setup for her and was looking for pictures of dogs. Below is the URL that she selected and when she tried to get out of it the spam started.

Yes I have set Security measures to stop this sort of thing but they still get by.I contacted the owner of the site to inform Them of the problem. I recieved no response and the site is still listed.I have sent a second response to them and removed thier site from my computor.

Make sure you check the sites for your kids!
    The search site was super-kids.com

The URL she selected is as follows

Barren River Area Search Dog Association http://www.bgcky.com/brasda/
Do St. Bernards really carry brandy? Here, volunteers train dogs to help find missing people.

AS you can see. You would not think this to be a porn site.

I find that this is happening so often now (too often for my liking). It's not only the 'pop up' porn adds but also other advertising. They drive me wacky!

That happened once when I typed in www.redschool.com. It's SO easy for kids to get into porn here. But, the "freedom of speech" or whatever comes up when we try to do something about it. I doubt very much real life would let kids go through boxes of porn in back of a porn store. But. It's free and easy on the Internet. Some of the pictures I have been e-mailed are nasty.....I have no choice but to just delete. But, my eyes should not have to see that if I don't want to.

I noticed a couple months ago going through the agency link list here at officer.com that some of the links that are supposed to be law enforcement agencies are actually links to porn sites.

OK call me stupid," Hello Stupid" .....but
in the past few weeks we have been getting spamed to death with everything from insurance companies, lose weight schemes, and most distrubing porn sites. Some are really sick.

I have checked the "properties" and most are not sent to our email directly but are just to [email protected] I called the internet provider and they said it is creating a problem for everyone.

Like a dumb ***..on the bottom of the porn email (the part you don't open) it said to be removed reply with nothing in the subject box and I would be automatically removed. Others had a box that said to be removed type in your email and send and I would be removed........OH $hit....now I'm receiving more of this crap but now it comes to my email. "Hello STUPID!"

A friend told me that by sending a reply I only confirmed my email and now it is shared with many other sites. IS THIS TRUE???

I also think that maybe someone that was PO'd at me may have sent our email address to some of these sites as a sick joke.

Anyone else had problems like this.

They disguise the e-mail address that they sent it from. Your e-mail address along with everyone else's has been put on a list and they just send e-mail to that list that you're now on. They never actually type your e-mail address in. They've got a database or e-mail list with the e-mails in them.

#1: Under no circumstances do you open it up or even try to look at it. They can have javascripts embedded into the e-mail and can steal info about you from your e-mail client.

#2: Never ever reply to those because you are just setting yourself up for more crap.

I hate to tell you but YES. You are now on more lists. Who knows what you'll get now.

Yes, that could have happened. These people can also come out here and get the e-mails on the website.

That's why it is a good idea to have a throw-away e-mail or an e-mail that you can re-direct to somewhere keeping your good e-mail free and clear. I don't think there is anyone that is free and clear of this crap. I even get it at work. They find your e-mail address somewhere and then the spamming begins.

This to let everyone know that after the 2nd e-mail to this site they did remove the offensive link. posted is the response from the webmaster.

                Hi Gary

Thank you for your message. I did not receive the first message.

The offending site has been removed from the database at www.super-kids.com.

All submissions to Super-Kids are visited and reviewed before being entered into the database. Sometimes, IP numbers are re-assigned, or other routing errors occur, and traffic is routed to a different site.

                Best Regards,
                Mike Clark

The thing I hate is when a porn site does pop up you can not just close it out because three or more takes it place. I do not go to porn sites and I have no need for them but if one does pop up from a search or other thing why can't it just be a simple click and your done? Instead you have to waste time trying to get rid of all these pop ups that you did not ask for in the first place. Things like that make me not go back to the site that first brought that pop-up.
