  • Sunglasses: What do you wear?

I hate laying out BIG $$$ on sunglasses. It seems I'm always dropping them, having them knocked off, etc. So, I shop around.

My current sunglasses are Gargoyle's Victory model with silver tinted lenses. Cost? Under $20(found them on clearance on the 'net').

I also wear the Gargoyles, but I don't recall what the model name is. I bought them from Quartermaster in Long Beach, CA, on sale (also don't remember the price).

I always lose my sunglasses so I buy whatever looks the best under 10 bucks.

I had a pair of prescription sunglasses, but the frame broke. Urgh. How much does a replacement frame cost? Oh boyo.

Did we take some 'snob' test awhile back... well... I ONLY wear polarized sunglasses... hee hee... my current sunglasses are a pair of Bolle and a pair of Revo. One was like $120 and the other was around $200.

I have a rich friend who gives me her second-hand stuff like purses and sunglasses that she pays hundreds for.... so I usually wear them, brand names like Ray Ban or Calvin Klein. Otherwise I would buy cheap ones because I misplace them like I misplace umbrellas!

Ray Ban Aviators, black frame. I generally get about four years out of a pair before they meet their fate, but I did have one pair last nine.

I saw Mark Martin wearing some Ray-Bans in a post-race interview a few years ago and thought they really looked cool so I bought 'em. A couple of months ago, I dropped a really big case file on them in the front seat of the car and broke a lens. Ray-Ban wanted $55 + shipping and tax to replace the lens, so I now wear some Iron Man Foster Grants I got at Target for $12. I also have a $10 back-up pair from Old Navy. Nothing but cheap sunglasses for me from now on (and don't even get me started on watches).

On duty, Ray-Ban Aviators. They are old and have some scratches, so I don't care if they get more thrashed. Don't want to wear expensive shades at work. Off-duty, Ray-Ban Predator Metals. I keep an old pair of Oakley M-frames with the mirrored lens on my Gold Wing. I also have a 10 or 12 year old pair of Serengeti Drivers, which are great on cloudy or hazy days.

Sunglasses usually last me at least five, if not 10 years. I prefer Ray-Ban gray lens or Serengeti brown.

At work or on my personal motorcycle I wear $8 UVEX safety/sunglasses.

Off duty and away from bikes, I wear Oakley M-frames or Zeroes.

Same here. In fact I took off my shades on a traffic stop the other day and they broke. I am going to have to get a new pair. I seem to break or scratch them up all the time so I don't spend much money on them.

Magnetic shades that clip onto my prescription glasses are the norm. Or the prescription Ray-Ban Aviators with photochromic gray lenses.
And Vaurnet driving glasses for those "driving into the sun" days.
