  • Are Moles Our Ecological Friends?

Got up this morning, and found lots of little mole hills all over my yard. Now, I know you're not supposed to make a mountain out of a molehill, but those mole hills are actually pretty big!!!

Should I declare war on the moles and conduct voodoo science experiments to get rid of them? Or should I thank them for rototilling my yard, free of charge!!!

Help, I'm feeling a little violent at the moment.

I have visions of "Caddy Shack" running through my mind.

The only mole I know of is "Morocco Mole", who was a television personality in the seventies. If memory serves, he was ecologically friendly, when he was not on assignment. I don't remember to well though, maybe I'm thinking of "Secret Squirrel".

Dont worry about moles, they are easy to get rif off.

Just pour some gasoline down the holes and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then with a lit stick, touch it off.

Just be sure that the moleholes dont run under your driveway or your house. Use the gas sparingly.

Hint: wait till the 4th of July and nobody will notice...

My mom had moles in her yard very bad. And with a pool it was twice as gross. I would take my kids over to swim and we would find them floating dead in the pool. She finall sold the house. She could never find a cure to get rid of them.

I think moles are cute THey are blind little furry things. We were swimming in our pool one day and a little girl said, "Hey, Miss Mitzie, when did you start letting animals swim in your pool?" I jumped up, thinking it was a snake and her was this tiny little mole swimming around. I ran for the net , got him and let him go before my husband came out there. You don't want to know what he said when he found out I let the lttle varmit go.
He was a cute little mole, probably here before our house was.

You shoulda killed it Mitzi. I want you to buy a gun, and the next one you see, kill it. If you don't want a gun, then you'll have to bite it's head off. That's the prefered method.

Day 2 in the mole invasion: 32 molehills!!!!

Really can't visualize the gasoline solution. Would probably blow up my natural gas line and make a spectacle of myself. Would that be considered arson?

MIKE! I love all animals, really. The mole I saved was so cute, a furry, blind little thing. I try to see beauty in all animals, really.

They ARE cute little things...i have a yard full of them. the only thing i dont like is that it makes it hard to walk around the yard! my yard guy told me to put stuff down to kill the grubs down in the lawn, as that's what they eat. no food...no moles. i did it one year and it worked, and it's environmentally safe if you use the correct kind of grub killer. i'd rather kill worms than moles, personally. i also have a well and i dont want poisons going down into the ground.

PS. they ARE good for the aeration of the lawn tho!

and Mitzi, i agree with you, i love all animals, even ugly ones. and i even take crickets outside when i find them indoors

Hey, at least moles aren't skunks eating on your front porch and making homes UNDER your front porch and not caring about loud rock music or nasty things poured down their holes. I'd get rid of the moles, though. One way or da othah.... They make hash of a perfectly good lawn.

Day 3 of the Mole Attack: 41 mounds!

Maybe I can apply for federal aid as a disaster site.
