  • It's best to be honest

A female friend of mine made a terrible decision. She came home the other day with over $1,000 damage done to her Lexus. I asked her what happened and she said she hit a concrete wall in front of parking place.
She finally admitted to her husband she had hit another car but "had not done any damage". Her husband told her she HAD to have done damage because of the damage to her car.
He called me over because she was so upset and I told her it would be better for her if she called the police and told them what happened rather then have them come looking for her.
They are talking to her at her house now and I left because it was so embarassing for her, I could tell. I think that she left the scene because she was either upset or had taken a pain pill for her back. I don't know.
What will they do? I'm pretty sure she will be arrested. She made a really bad decision.

Can't speak for your states laws, but she'd be required to file an accident report here. Failure to do so would result in a ticket if she were located.

        Mitzi,

Sorry to hear about your neighbor. As a chronic pain patient I am on all sorts of non-driving meds, but a newbie to the pain world may jsut drive and forget that under the influence means any kind of substance.
