yehay, the anthem of control room staff currently the METROPOLITAN POLICE (LONDON) have about 45 control rooms spread over LONDON

the control rooms are sited at the "HQ" police station in any particular area and each control room has between 3 and 4 staff to take calls, answer radio traffic and put out radio assignments

in 2 years time, the 45 control rooms will go to THREE!

yes - the grand plan is for 3 massive master control rooms for the whole of LONDON, the local control rooms can go back to being SNOOKER ROOMS (whatever happened to playing snooker in an officer's lunch break?)

Yes, New Orleans has one. Makes you feel real secure when you about third on the list when some one is breaking down your front door. I'm my own security system at least my Glock takes care of buisness if such a situation occurs. However think of the poor little old lady sitting in her chair waiting for the next operator.
