  • DWI Arrest #'s

What is the average # of DWI arrests that you, as an officer makes in a years time. I work nights about 6 months out of the year and last year made 45. I guess I'm just wondering how that stacks up to the rest of you out there? I work in a city of 21,000. Peace and stay safe!

My entire agency of about 25 road deputies only makes around 200 DUI arrests per year, and even then we are leading in the DUI numbers for any agency in the county. Our population is in the 100K area, not counting a large college student population.

You know, with all the info out there about drunk driving, it still amazes me how many people do! It's sheer stupidity!

That is the whole thing about drubk driving Mitzi You sit in a bar and have a couple drinks with a meal and maybe a few more with a friend or two as you watch the game or talk to some aquaintances. Then you go out and drive home without thinking about how many you have had.

I think noone really goes out to the bars, nightclubs or restraunts with the intention to get drunk and drive. I think as the night goes on and they start to feel better they get in that mind set that they are fine and not as drunk as they really are. This is where friends and others who see how bad off their friend is should make a effort to find them a alternate way home or cut them off and give them time to sober up before trying to drive home. I think drubk driving is something that will be around for a time yet.

        Just my views on things.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE AVERAGE IS BUT IT SEEMS LIKE YOU DOING PRETTY GOOD OUT THERE AND SAVING SOME LIVES. IF YOU SAVED ONE LIFE IT WAS ALL WORTH IT NOT COUNTING THE ACCIDENTS. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I made 15 last year in a city of 50,000 surrounded by about another 150,000 in adjoining cities. But I also worked dayshift for 8 months of the year.
