  • Marijuana and medical use.

Medical Marijuana is now legal in michigan.

There is no way to legally buy it however.

There is no way to legally sell it either.

You can get a Medical Marijuana card.
The card must be shown if you are stopped for using pot.
The card has a number, but no name on it.
There is a number to call to verify that the card number is correct.
They will not give you the name of the card holder.
There is currently no answer at the phone number to verify the card number.
There is a 14 year old boy who has legally gotten a MJ user card.
If stopped without a card, if you can get a perscription from a Doctor before your court date, they have to throw the case out.

You can grow up to 7 plants in a secure facility.
    Secure facility is not defined.
If you are arrested, your plants siezed, the police have to maintain them, water them, feed them, keep them healthy, until your trial date.
If they need to be harvested, I wonder if they have to do that as well.

Michigan is well and truely screwed.
Though their numbers are many, as the grass upon the field, we will count them at the end of the day.

Nothing new, here in Colorado we have the same thing. The people with the card can either grow it themselves (limitation on plants) or buy it from a local "dispensary." You can also designate someone else more experienced to grow your supply for you.

Hopefully the Officers learn how to introduce the female plants to some male plants, this will anger the person the 7 virgin female plants belong to.
Just pay your dues, and be quiet :-)

It doesn't matter what your state law says, it's still illegal on a federal level. The president said that they're going to lighten up on enforcement, not change the law.

It's still illegal everywhere in the US.

Fun, fun, times. I've already seen, on another forum, someone ask if they are prescribed MJ, will the State of Michigan take away their CCW permit.

My reply was "Have fun notifying the officer that you are carrying while you smell like skunk."
There are basically two kinds of people in this world. Those that believe in the moon landing and those that don't.

It could be worse, you could be in CA.....

There are going to be (at last count) three propositions on the November 2010 ballet to COMPLETELY legalize marijuana.....never mind for 'just' medical use.

In at least one of the propositions, the state itself would be selling weed, much like some states sell alcohol.

This will get interesting if one or more of them pass......as MJ is still illegal at the federal level
The posts on this forum by this poster are of his personal opinion, and his personal opinion alone

"Politicians are like diapers. They need to be changed often and for the same reason"

"We fight not for glory; nor for wealth; nor honor, but only and alone we fight for freedom, which no good man surrenders but with his life"

Okay, whatever....we, as police, don't make the drug laws, we just get sent out to enforce them and deal with the people who overuse them.

But let me predict, now, what I think one of biggest (and quite often re-occurring) threads we'll be handing here in, say, five to ten years...

"Hello, my name is Beevis, I'm planning on applying for (insert name of agency, here) in the next few months. I used to get frequent migraines (or whatever ailment is in vogue for getting Rx of cannibis) and use MJ to relieve the pain. I had to do this 70-80X and grew 5-7 plants in my home at any time to get my needs met. Do you think this will be an issue?"
"You're never fully dressed without a smile."

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.

Three things I know for sure: (1) No bad deed goes unrewarded, (2) No good deed goes unpunished, and (3) It is entirely possible to push the most devoted, loyal and caring person beyond the point where they no longer give a 5h!t.

And, if Obama and Holder have their way, the scenario referenced by Keith will become the norm. Scary, isn't it?

Several drug companies are working on substances derived from marijuana that have medical benefits but do not produce a high and do contain all the contaminants found in smoke.

Want some federally approved, available by prescription drugs

                              FDA approved:

Marinol (dronabinol or d9-THC) - active ingredient in marijuana
Cocaine HCl (think the powder) - to be used topically only
Desoxyn (Methamphetamine) - its approved for ADHD, and get this... obesity
