  • A Darwin winner! Man fatally injured in attempt to elude police

Now that didn't go quite like it was planned.
EAST ST. LOUIS - Illinois State Police report that a 30-year-old man was fatally injured when he dove through a window this morning as police officers executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of 15th Street.

Police said the man, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to Kenneth Hall Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

State Police Master Trooper Ralph Timmins said officers of the State Police Tactical Response Team and the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois were serving a search warrant about 7 a.m. when the man dove through and out of a first-floor window. Timmins said the man’s injuries were caused by broken glass.

State Police were continuing to investigate the matter. An autopsy was under way this afternoon.

Only a small bit out of the paper, but I thought it was worth passing along.

          Lol @ Dal.
If I tell you what I know, I'd have to kill you. Fortunately, I don't know much.

I guess that just depends on your perspective.

                I'd say it worked.

I don't agree with your opinion, but I respect its straightforwardness in terms of wrongness.

Maybe he was going to the store and the police search warrant was just a coincidence?????

He forgot to tuck and roll.
Being a good street cop is like coming to work in a wet suit and peeing in your pants. It's a nice warm feeling, but you're the only one who knows anything has happened.
