Yes. He's a JAG Officer.....UFB. What's even more disturbing (if that's possible), is what the Director of National Center for Missing & Exploited Children indicated on the news last night. Cases such as these are becoming more 'popular' with phedophiles because the victims "can't speak" and as such can't report the violations.

Army major in Arlington accused of producing child porn

A U.S. Army major has been accused of videotaping and photographing himself raping an infant boy and disseminating the images on the Internet, federal prosecutors said.

Daniel A. Woolverton was taken into custody Wednesday after the FBI said it found child pornography on an file sharing Web site and then traced the images to a computer in the 34-year-old's home in Arlington.

When investigators searched Woolverton's home following the Army trial lawyer's arrest, they found a memory card with images of man having sex with an infant boy, prosecutors said.

In those videos and pictures, a man wearing a wristwatch that matched Woolverton's could also be seen raping the infant, charging documents filed in Alexandria's federal court said. A bib worn by the infant in the images was found inside a Woolverton family vehicle and the pornographic images depict locations in Woolverton's home, according to the court documents.

The FBI has identified the infant, but is protecting the victim's identity.

A laptop with child porn images depicting other children was also found in Woolverton's house, prosecutors said.

Authorities are concerned there might be other victims. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 202-278-2000.

Don't expect any profession to be clear of such individuals. They exist in the highest levels of management to the lowest levels of blue collar workers.

LAPD officer, son charged with having child porn

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A veteran Los Angeles police officer is facing child pornography charges.

A federal grand jury charged 54-year-old John Robert Deegan and his 25-year-old son, Jonathon, with two counts each of possession of child porn last month, according to an indictment filed in U.S. District Court.

Both turned themselves in and were released last week on $10,000 bail.

Prosecutors say Deegan and his son had child porn on a home computer in January 2008.

Deputy Chief Mark Perez says Deegan has been suspended with pay since March when FBI agents told police officials that he was under investigation.

Attorneys for Deegan and his son declined to comment but Ira Salzman, who is representing Jonathon Deegan, says his client will plead not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday.

Ex-CHP sergeant sentenced to 300 days in jail for child molestations

A former California Highway Patrol sergeant was sentenced to 300 days in Placer County Jail after pleading guilty to three misdemeanors, two counts of child molestation and one for possession of child pornography.

In August, Wayne Robert Alger (left photo), 37, of Roseville, confessed to molesting a 16-year-old girl in a home in July 2008 and committing a lewd act upon a 12-year-old Rocklin girl inside a vehicle in 2007.

Alger, who used to work in the Capitol Protection Section before his 2008 arrest by Rocklin police, will be required to register as a sex offender for life and will be placed on five years probation.

In the felony complaint filed against Alger in February, Alger was charged with seven sex offenses. In August, he entered a guilty plea on three counts.

Placer County officials said they were pleased with the result given the evidence. During the sentencing phase, the District Attorney's office asked for the maximum 365-day sentence. Alger's lawyer argued in court that 90 days were appropriate.

"We didn't think the incidents were of felony-level conduct," said Jeff Wood, the Placer County prosecutor handling the case. "The things we felt we could prove did not amount to felony conduct."

Before Superior Court Judge J. Richard Couzens sentenced Alger, who was a 10-year CHP veteran at the time of the arrest, heard from the victims' families.

"You are a disgrace as a man and as a CHP officer," the mother of the older girl shouted at him, according the a District Attorney's office report of the sentencing. "I hope you burn in hell."

The younger girl's mother described Alger as a "textbook predator" who befriended the family to gain access to her daughter.

The girl's father was one of Alger's best friends and was a fellow CHP officer.

"Instead of protecting the public from evil, he committed evil himself," the father said, calling Alger an embarrassment to law enforcement.

Alger did not make a statement in court.

Lethal injection these days. Death is the maximum penalty for rape afforded under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. The last person put to death by the military was U.S. Army Private John A. Bennett who was convicted of rape and murder in 1961. There are now 9 individuals on death row, all convicted of murder. If convicted he'll probably not receive the death penalty, though life without parole is the most likely alternative. Hopefully his fellow inmates will take care of things there. Which, oddly, costs the state less and provides swifter justice than a death penalty conviction would .

Is he being charged by the Army or the FBI? I think the Army would be more likely to put him to death. Reading that article literally made me sick to my stomach. The death penalty as practiced here is too good for folks that would commit such an atrocity.

What's really sick and sad, is that every time there is a story about child porn, the searches for it increase.

Thats a shame. Article 120 of the UCMJ states that the Army may impose a death sentance for Rape of a Child.

The only way to stop this cancer is to snuff these people out like the rabid animals they are.
