I'm not saying it's right though...

Wrong. I turn off music that starts disrespecting women. There is no "defense" to any of these worthless scums music. These people have no respect for women and really anyone else. They hate cops (yes, they HATE), they hate the "man", they hate anyone who "disrespects", and they lack any moral compass.

This soulja boy was like 14 when that song "Superman" came out. See anything wrong with that? Then, you got everyone dancing to that song like it's cool when no one even knows what it means.

There is plenty of "mainstream" music that is not hip-hop, thankfully, Hip-hop and rap are the only forms of "music" that regularly degrade women. I refuse to listen to any of it.

Oh well, I love hip hop music. Anti-police/degrading to women or not I still enjoy it for the most part.

You're right and I also listen to the other stuff too...There's some techno, house, pop, oldies, that are awsome, heck they're better then most of the stuff out today...Hip-Hop and rap is what I grew up listening to...Today for the most part hip-hop is just bad...And no I'm not getting older, super cool people like me don't get old...

Oh, but the same men will watch porn and buy dirty mags or watch movies that are disrespectful to women...

Where's that line in the sand again?

I don't agree with your opinion, but I respect its straightforwardness in terms of wrongness.

Great point Smurf!...An entire song bashing women is tacky, the thing w/ hip-hop is that a lyric or two will come up saying some pretty racy things...Again it's not right..There are also women artist who say racy things: Lil Kim, Salt n Pepa, Queen Latifah, Britney Spears...Lil Kim will probabaly make a lot of male rappers/artist blush...

The lexicon of hip-hop is demeaning to women, regardless of what the song is about.

I don't get too wrapped around the axel about it. I've seen far too many girls do more damage in the degradation of female then men will ever do. People treat you as you give them permission to. I have heard enough of the Misses Officer mess to go knee deep in someone's ***...because I know the song and I know the disrespect in it. I listen to rap, top 40s, 80s, 90s, oldies, j***, blues, country, beach and classical. I don't understand defining someone on such a level.

Absolutey incorrect. That is a generalization by people that have been misinformed by the media. Some? Yes. All? No.

Not all of it...It's not just a hip-hop thing, a lot of rock bands are just as guilty...

Those do not represent the whole of an organization, group or theology. Not ALL rap is belitting to women nor more than ALL NFL players are criminal.

There are plenty of other words that rap artist use, sometimes they'll use the woman's name, what ever rhymes...Not every song is about a woman (ho or B****), and if one is looking for romantic lyrics or words rap is not the music for one...

"Honey, you mean the world to me, tonight I dedicate this song to you, "You is a ho", by Ludacris"...
