  • Men: Do you shave your chest? If so, WHY????

I was talking to my friend last night and we got on the subject of shaving. She told me that her husband shaves his chest. I'd never heard of such a thing! [Eek!] I wanted to question her further but didn't want to seem too nosey, so I decided I'd pose the question here, since I don't know you all.

Do any of you men here shave your chest? If you do, what's your reason? Also, what do you use as the cut-off line? Do you stop at your stomach? If so, wouldn't you look odd with a smooth chest and hairy stomach? Or do you just shave it all?

I've been out of the dating scene for a long time now and the only chests I ever see are at accident scenes or in the back of an ambulance. They're all either hairy or just a few wisps here and there. I've never run across a shaved one before. I'm wondering if this is a new trend or something? -

Ask nicely and I'll show you!

What about you, do you shave your chest??????

I always thought the wimminz enjoyed a hairy chest? I know several that do...

In the interests of truth, honesty, and public humiliation...

No, I don't shave my chest. I do know men who are competetive swimmers that shave their entire bodies (YES, even *there*), but...

The closest I come is trimming the *really* long hairs with a pair of scissors now and then.

I wonder how much time those swimmers "shave" off their score?

IF I were to decide to remove the virtual forest of hair from my chest, a mere razor wouldn't 'cut it'...LOL I'd need something along the lines of a weedeater!

                    Hell no.

I can understand it for competitive swimmers and bodybuilders, but for anyone else........nah.

I remember when we shared a compound with the 118th MP Co. They were an airborne unit and for some reason, a lot of them shaved their chests. We asked them if it made them fall faster

And I don't understand guys who ride bikes shaving their legs. Is that little bit of hair REALLY creating that much drag?

I don't like shaving my face. Why would I want to shave my chest?

While I don't shave myself. I was told in my LEBA course, that it wasn't necessarily for speed. If you fall/crash (and there are 2 types of bike officers...Those that will crash and those of us that have crashed) and get road rash the hair that gets into the wounds can cause a nasty infection.

I do remember people at the gym shaving because it showed off the definition their muscles better.

Some people have real problems with hair grown. I knew an officer with hair on his back, looks like the missing link between mankind and the apes.

SpecOpsWarrior, no, I don't shave my chest.

I agree with Scratchy; I don't think a shaved chest would look so great. Like I said previously, there's got to be a cut-off point somewhere and I would think it would look kinda strange. I like bare chests on men but hairy chests don't bother me at all. They're kinda cuddly.

What does bother (and terrify) me, however, are men that have hair on their chest, back, sides and arms like a bear and then insist on wearing those low-cut tank tops out in public. I saw a man like that last month in Lowe's and I still can't shake the image. - I understand that some people are genetically hairier than others, but there's no need to traumatize the rest of the world that way.

I don't like a man who shaves his body hair. BUT...if you look a little fuzzy on the back, Nair works wonders! There's a difference between a lot of body hair and looking like a gorilla.

These young guys who shave every inch of their bodies....they look smooth and all but there are certain places where I wouldn't think that stubble is very comfortable! [Eek!]

I nair the hair off of my arms and my face because I have darker arm/facial hair and I HATE IT! I would never dream of shaving it....my gosh I'd look like a man! I can thank my father for the dark hair...he's part indian.
