are CJBAT and FBAT the same thing?

so i want to order/study the CORRECT study guide for the RIGHT test but when i google both of these come up. I live in florida but so far on some of the departments i want to apply they are asking for the scores of the TABE & CJBAT. I haven't taken the CJBAT but when I'm at publicsafetyrecruitment.com there is a CJBAT study guide and even a NBAT study guide.

Can you please guide me in the correct direction of which is the right one? Also-the "A" stands for abilities correct? Because someone said it's some type of agility test but I think he was wrong because he tried getting into a department that is in broward county and they had him do a swim and some other type of 'excercise' related tests. The CJBAT is just another paper test like the TABE correct? Or am I wrong?

I just wanna get the ball rolling on this. My roommate (Officer) gave me a study guide and it's in the attic so I have to look for it and hopefully it's the right one that I need but if not I'll have to buy the correct one for $15.

Most place I know in Florida use the CJBAT, though you might have to wait for one of the Florida forum users to confirm that.

They're both the same, if anything take the CJBAT, b/c most if not all dept will accept CJBAT test results, can't say the same about the FBAT...I took both...

Also go to the agencies you want to apply to and see what they want...

As far as a study guide, go to the library they have some police test books there the test are almost the same...I bought the book, but it didn't help much...

If you want check this site out...CJBAT study guides...One more thing, make sure you get the CJABT study guide for the carrer path you want, they also have a CJBAT for CO's...If you want law enforcement get the right guide...

CJBAT and TABE are 2 diffrent test...Some depts will want both others just the CJBAT (or FBAT)...The diffrence in test is that the CJBAT (Criminal Justice Ability Test) is just law enforcement questions on: simple grammar, direction corrdination, memorization, and reading (lots of reading)...There is a lot of reading though and time is your worse enemy, not a hard test though...

The TABE (Test for Adult Basic Education) is more arthmetic: math, science, spelling, reading...If I'm not mistaken, that's the test one needs to pass in order to get a GED...The libabry has a lot of books on the TABE...If you have any questions just call the testing center...

thanks for clearing that up Southflaguy. i was able to find the CJBAT study guide on a torrent site and i have it downloaded in a PDF...yikes 71 pages to print!!!

I'm not working for anyone...I've only applied to only one dept...I've decided to wait and finish my bachelors before I apply anywhere else...Right now competition is tight, and a lot of depts are on a freeze...I figure I'll start working in my career field, accounting (that's the degree I'm working on)...Gotta start my life, if it's ment to be it's ment to be...

I'll be a boring accountant, but I'll have fun on the weekends...

I'm not tripping over it anymore...

I live in Tampa, FL I took the FBAT and submitted to the agencies I am applying with in Broward and they sent me letters stating I need to take the CJBAT. So yes it def depends on the agency.

Check the librabry, when I go I see 2 or 3 copies of them...
