EDINBURG - Authorities caught two high-profile criminals at the same time.

One of the suspects, Mike Bueno, was wanted for string of pseudo-cop home invasions. The second suspect, Luis Cuevas, was wanted for murder and drugs charges.

"It's a very unusual occurrence, one of those two-for-one deals," says Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino.

Authorities are calling the arrests a blow to one of the Valley's more violent street gangs. Bueno is allegedly a captain in the Tri-City Bombers.

The two men were taken into custody yesterday afternoon. Deputies were outside a home near Pharr, when they saw Bueno and another man take off. After a car and foot pursuit, Bueno and Cuevas were arrested.

Deputies hadn't expected to catch Cuevas with Bueno.

"It's very unusual that two high-profile wanted suspect hangs out with another high-profile wanted suspect," explains the sheriff. "It doubles their chances of getting arrested, and it's a dumb move on their part."

Cuevas is suspected of a murdering a man over a lost load of drugs. The sheriff tells us another possible motive was Cuevas attempt to rise in the gang hierarchy.

Both men faced a judge this afternoon for their respective robbery and murder charges.
