Forget community policing, DARE, and all those other touchy feely programs.....

With the "Ball Busting Task Force"... the crime rate will drop to zero and cops would be working harder knowing they will get extra pay for each "ball" they bust....

Y'all wanted the answer to rising crime? Well.. here it is.... doubt we'll have the 'balls' to implement a program like this.

Actually, cops CAN and SHOULD shoot the groin as part of "body armor" drills.

If you shoot a guy a few times in the chest and he doesn't go down, or you otherwise feel that they may be wearing SBA, then go to either head or groin.

The groin area has alot of major blood carrying vessels and arteries. A proper shot there can lead to incapacitation due to rapid blood loss.

it might be a slow go, though. Remember that the blood in the brain has enough oxygen in it to function for around 15 seconds. Their brain can still give commands to their muscles even after the blood has stopped flowing.

So.. a determined or jacked up attacker can still be dangerous even if their body is dead and they don't know it yet. And that's only after bleed out which also takes time.

Even if it's not a BG wearing SBA, the best target you have is the one which presents itself. If the best shot you have in a deadly force encounter is the groin, then take the shot.

I don't want to hear about any officers or innocent citizens getting hurt or killed over a silly reluctance to shoot a guy in the groin! Do what you have to do in order to WIN!!

Ummmm, Sparky?

Our Body Armor drills are thus:

Two rounds to the chest; assess.

No effect?

One to the head.

No effect, or no target?

Two to the hip area (groin, whatever.

The theory is this:

If the "normal" center mass shots don't work, take out the computer (brain, head).

If that's not available, take out the motivators (legs) by shooting the hips.

Large bones, lots of blood vessels in the hips. (nerves, too)

The only problem is trying to train someone that hasn't ever shot anything but center mass to shoot anything but center mass.

Good tactical shooting.....
