"The Charm School" may become a mini-series on the USA Network. They've bought the rights but I don't think they've done more than think about it.

Ed Harris would be my choice to play Bob. I thought he played a fine sniper in the movie "Salvador". His "Enemy at the Gates" role as a WWII sniper wasn't bad either. Unfortunately, both films left a lot to be desired. "Salvador" contained a bit too much of Oliver Stone's paranoia. "The War of the Rats" was the book on which "Enemy at the Gates" was based. It was butchered for the screen.

I am not a person that reads a lot - But I could not put THE CHARM SCHOOL down. It is a great book by Nelson DeMille. That would be a great book to make into a movie.

I read THE OUTSIDERS in grade school and thought that book should be made into a movie - and by george it happened!

I have to agree any of John Sandford's Prey books.

I would also like to see Stuart Woods, Orchid Beach and Orchid Blues turned into a movie, and Lisa Gardner's The Perfect Husband, The Other Daughter, The Third Victim, and The Next Accident. Those 4 books turned into a movie would be really good.

Any of the John Sandford "Prey" books, well worth a read.

It's been a few years now since I've read it, but the book, "Hanta Yo" by Ruth Beebe Hill, remains one of my favorites and has long been among those I'd like to see adapted to film.

Anything by Nelson DeMille or Stephen Hunter could make a fine movie. After seeing the film versions of "The General's Daughter" and "Dirty White Boys" ,however, I am given pause for thought.

The straightforward and non-stop action of a Matthew Reilly book would translate well into a special effects extravaganza, I would think, and the period atmosphere of a Caleb Carr or Owen Parry book would be something I'd really like to see.

Since I still retain more than a little bit of my teenaged fascination with science fiction, the "World War" series by Harry Turtledove would be nice to see in a theatre, as would his book, "The Guns of the South".

I was going to say the same thing ... but to be honest, I *really* enjoyed the film version of Hunt for Red October. More then the other three that have been adopted, although the story certainly was cut quite a bit, it didn't seem forced, and there weren't large plot holes.

Plus, I'm pretty sure it was the first R rated film I'd seen in theaters, so that might bias me ... I think I was 11 when it came out (1989, right?).

Killing Pablo - Mark Bowden's (author of Black Hawk Down) account of the hunt for Colombian drug lord and terrorist Pablo Escobar. Excellent, well written, and would make a great movie.

What books have you read that you would like to see made into a movie?

Most of the Clancy books that haven't been done. Rainbow Six, Without Remorse, and Debt of Honor top my list.
