  • Good LE book to read.

I just read this book and thought maybe you guys would like to read it. Although its about the FBI and the HRT, it has a lot of good isight into police and LE work, and the duty behind the badge.
Its called NO HEROES, by Dan Coulson

YOu can pick it up at your local library or read about a review at or send me an e-mail if you want to know what its about. Thanks for your time.

I read it a few months ago. I found it hard to get through because of the author's attitude. To me he seemed to have a well developed ego, but I could be reading things into it.

Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets by David Simon.

My copy is starting to fall apart, I've read and leafed through it so much.

        Two I can recommend are

Cold Zero: Inside the FBI Hostage Rescue Team by Christopher Whitcomb
This is an autobiographical account of a guy who started as a journalist and ended up as a sniper on HRT. He was there for the LA riots, Ruby Ridge and Waco, among others. I picked this one up because it was recommended in another post.

Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Serial Crime Unit by John E Douglas and Mark Olshaken
This is an autobiography of the guy who became the FBI's lead profiler. I'm about 1/2-way through it now and it's quite good. My wife recommended this one to me after she read it.
Caution and worry never accomplished anything.
