  • "Minneapolis Taser Incident Ruled Homicide"

I love how the media works. You take an article with quotes like:
medical examiner Andrew Baker cautioned that the definition of homicide is not tantamount to murder. "In the medical examiner world, it simply means that other people were involved in the individual's death," he said. "It doesn't imply that it was murder or malfeasance or acting outside the scope of professional conduct."
    and
The medical examiner's release did not say whether the Taser shock was a factor in Smith's death.
and come up with the title

    "Minneapolis Taser Incident Ruled Homicide"

Now I admit, it did its job, because I read the article. Had the title said "another taser death ruled to be caused by stress" I would have just kept browsing past it. Still, I can't help get annoying every time the media purposely puts a spin on an article that clearly doesn't exist.
Sheriff: We just take turns being the sheriff. It's real easy. You just hang out here, eat some pie, and get drunk.
Peter Griffin: Wait. Hold on a second. "Pie," "drunk," "the?" You got yourself a sheriff!

Those headlines they have are always tricky and full of stretched truth.

I remember that one "Man gives birth to baby girl." And it turned out he was born a woman and kept her/his female reproductive organs. You would think that he/she wouldn't be classified as a man if he/she had kept his/her original organs.

I was so ****ed after reading it.

I believe we all need to keep in mind that the media doesn't exist to report news, they are basically entertainers. Additionally, they are spin doctors and shills for the particular political philosophy they are backing. Pure, unvarnished reporting ,simply for the sake of informing, is a vanished art. As a result of this bias and ability to slant, the media enjoys an approval rating lower than Congress. Okay, that's my rant for the week.
