  • Has anyone seen the new Zenith commercial?

I'm going to put this a delicately as possible but the commercial is pure trash. A bunch of men are standing watching beautiful women swim or something on a Zenith TV. One man gets a big smile on his face then turns to walk away. And um, well, um.....right in the crotch of his pants is a huge wet spot. Then it shows the other guys standing there close to getting smiles on their faces. They end it with, "Never under estimate the power of a Zenith TV". This was very embarassing as my son and I were watching TV together. He just very quietly got up and walked out of the room. I guess he saw my red face.
I mean WHAT WERE THESE PEOPLE THINKING? I've already e-mailed my anger and dismay over this very poorly considered commercial. It will be a cold day in h*** before I ever buy a Zenith TV, not that that would bother them. ggeezzzzzzzz

I thought it was hilarious. They hit my demographic on the mark. (the 12-78 year old male one, that is).

Well, then maybe they were aiming their commercial at men like you. As a 51 year old wife and mother watching that commercial with her 25 year old son, we didn't find it funny at all. Any other time, in company of his friends, my son might have laughed. But not sitting there watching it with his mother. It was very embarassing for both of us.
Someone your age might find it funny. I sure didn't.

I have never seen this commercial and I hope I never do. The thing with commercials of late that I have seen are getting to the point that they are pushing the envelope on what a lot of people in this country might view as very questionable. This is a example of how far the moralities of this nation have slipped in recent years. I am sure if we go over to a foriegn nation we would be utterly shocked at what is on tv there. And the commercials are even worse. As long as americans watch commercials and buy the products then the advertisers will continue this line. Heck even the people who call or write in demanding the commercial be taken off will be enough to want others to see it and therefore the ads will get more popular and more products might even be sold. How to stop the decay? That I have no idea.

I just try not to read that much into them. If I watch them and like them, I'll leave them on. If I don't, I mute it or change the channel.

I've never seen the commercial either, but by the description given I would rule it out as inappropriate and wouldn't find it funny. (some other 19yo's I'm sure would, but not all are too mature) I know they could have thought of 100 different topics for their commercials, I think their writers should stick to their online porn before they go writing commercials for the young kids to see on TV.

I wasn't attacking him, Nite. I just don't think it was appropriate. Everyone should think it's funny, not just a chosen few. My son was embarassed. So was I. Now, if he was with his buddies, he might have laughed. But he was with me.....and it was embarassing.
